I wish I could add a sixth star to this review because this was one of the most effective massages I have had. My wife and I booked a couples massage (deep tissue with herbal oils) to help relieve tension and work through some serious knots in our necks and backs. I called on a Friday afternoon, and they booked us an early evening time slot. The space was relaxing with soft music playing and low lighting, but the massage table and the room were more utilitarian. However, I wasn’t there to admire the surroundings, and the space has a great feel to it. Tina and Sophie were excellent and more. They asked us about any trouble spots at the beginning and checked in throughout the massage to see if the pressure felt good. They did make friendly conversation at the beginning, but we ended up not talking for most of it. They really went to town on us and provided a seriously deep tissue massage. I still have sore spots a day later where Tina took extra time to work out knots in my back! However, it was still relaxing, and we plan to return in a few weeks. I found them to be knowledgeable, effective, and friendly, and I would definitely recommend coming here for a massage!

When I first walked in i was immediately greeted by them saying my name and asking if i need to use the restroom. I replied with yes and proceeded down a very dark hallway that you can barely see. When I came out from the restroom who I assumed was Sophia, I was never given a name, was standing outside of the massage room right by the bathroom and pointed to the room. I was told to put my stuff on the other table. I told my lady multiple times that what she was doing was hurting and she would say sorry and keep going. As she would use her elbow on my neck and shoulders to the point it was hurting and very painful, I would say that hurts and I was like keep moving and at one point she started putting one hand on my arm while she did it. I booked a full body massage and only got the back half done. The oils used were cold, and multiple times the lady would take her shoes off and put her knees on the bed. I was also not in a fully closed room.. the room I was in had 3 bed and a chair bed. There was the door you enter the room in and then there was a curtain hanging where they keep all the supplies. It was not a quiet experience as you could hear everything going on outside the room. You could hear people talking and water running. Was not the best experience. Will not recommend it to anyone! This was my second time getting a massage and I left feeling more sore than I did going in. I told her I wanted a full body massage but that my back was hurting me that i have sciatica pain. When she used her elbows it was my shoulders and neck not my lower back. I overall was very uncomfortable with the entire experience. The only part enjoyable was the hot stones.

Make sure you know what to expect, read through the lower star reviews, the managers get defensive and unprofessional attacking customers rather than take the feedback and improve. First, don't expect a professional massage place, they do not have you fill out paperwork, sign forms, do any intake, ask any questions about what you are here for, health history, what trouble areas, what type of massage or level of pressure you would like. Also, I booked an appointment with Julia because the bulk of the positive reviews are about her. When I walked in early for my appointment all the staff were sitting in the lobby. They were not pleasant or welcoming, they didn't ask me anything so I had to begin myself to say I'm here for my appointment. The woman at the desk (the manager I assume, no one introduced themselves) looked at her staff and said "Sophie, it's your turn." They all seemed grumpy and didn't want to be there. I was confused, since I made my appointment with Julia so I mentioned that and the owner seemed annoyed. They just do not conduct themselves professionally. I get there are language and culture barriers but if you're going to do business in the states, you need to learn some basic customer service skills. Some of the staff barely speak English so even if you do communicate what you would like, you may not get it. I was concerned when Julia appeared to be old, which during the second half of the massage she was barely giving effort and seemed tired. When we got into the room she didn't ask what I wanted or about any trouble areas. So I spoke up first to tell her what I would like. The room had supplies and machines all over the place. At first I thought it was partly a supply closet, it was not neat or tidy or a "spa" environment. The table was uncomfortable. The face cushion for lying down had shredded fabric falling off it, clearly old. There were literally cheap paper towels put on top of the pillow for you to put your face on. Instead of something nice and "spa" like for cleanliness and luxury. So it doesn't feel good or relaxing. The room was also warm with no fresh, circulating air so my sinuses were getting very stuffy and it was hard to breathe. Just not a relaxing environment. I asked for a relaxing massage, what I got was harsh movements with elbow and pointy finger techniques and such that are more meant to work out knots which is fine, if mixed with relaxing methods. But there was almost nothing relaxing about the massage. I tried communicating pressure or what I would like before and during the massage but she would mumble brief replies that I could not understand, I'm not sure she understood me. At one point another staff opened the door and they had a chat with the door open. Other reviews here said that happens. You are not supposed to do that at a professional massage for privacy and security. The owner will respond to these saying they ran out of a supply or something. Well if that happens often, then prepare better. They were all sitting in the lobby before I arrived, they can prepare supplies for their sessions. I have had many massages at other places and I know what to expect and to drink lots of water. Usually I feel light and relaxed after from other places. After my massage at New You I felt dizzy and nauseous. My body actually hurt. When I got home I needed heating pad, took Advil, drank lots of water, did stretches and it ruined my Friday night being in pain and discomfort. I was hoping to end a stressful week with a relaxing massage where I left feeling great. Instead, I was hurting and not satisfied. It is now Sunday and my body has actually been uncomfortable and in pain all weekend and I had to ask my wife to massage me a little bit to fix the problems caused by the paid massage. Some parts of the massage were good, I'm not saying it's a completely bad place. I think their strengths are working out knots in your muscles and doing stretches that will help loosen you up, but it is NOT relaxing or enjoyable. And you will not get good customer service.

Everything was excellent from start to finish, the attention and above all the most important thing, the massage was excellent, I don't understand the other comments that say there is a barrier with English, Julia is really very professional with all her services, the massage was very relaxing and the atmosphere very calm, the place very cozy and honestly I enjoyed the whole treatment. Very professional

This is the most unprofessional massage I have ever received. First, there is no where to change, you do not get a robe or privacy when changing. Management is not only rude but they state that they ask you if you want additional services during the massage rather than before. The alledged massage therapist has no idea of what they are doing, there is no intake form. Everything about the place is suspect and with good reason. This place needs to be investigated by the state because nothing is what it seems. Even the massage tables and supplies are low grade. Spend your money somewhere else. **In response to the owner, everything you stated is untrue. You did not offer facilities to change in. And irregardless to times being tough, your so called spa is not even up to a normal standard. You say my behavior was unacceptable yet you were the one screaming because we pointed out the obvious, that we were being charged for so called services we never requested prior. Also, how can you assess a client without an intake form, you are not professionals, nor luxury...you do not even make the standard. Also your massage techniques are awful. This was the worst so called massage I ever had. So dont worry, you will never see me in your spa again when there are tons of more decent places to get a massage in Murfreesboro. Even the beauty school is classier, cleaner and more professional than your subspar brothel like spa. I will spend my money anywhere else but with you.

I recently visited [NewYou Spa & Massage] for an $80 massage, hoping for a relaxing experience. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. The massage did not relieve my body pain or provide any relaxation. Additionally, I did not enjoy the massage at all during the session. The masseuse, an older lady, struggled with English and had difficulty understanding my requests. For the price, I expected a much better experience. I would not recommend this spa.i would never come again.
