Larry's Lounge

I loved this bar. It is a gay bar, very friendly with non binary and trans people. The drinks are fine and the prices are reasonable, but they don’t have plenty of options of beers.

Larry's Lounge is a pretty chill gay bar. Downstairs is pretty cozy, and there is also outdoor patio seating. Great prices for drinks, and the bartenders have always been pretty professional. Great neighborhood bar!

This bar offered a comfortable, welcome experience. It’s clearly beloved to a large group of regulars, many of which brought their adorable dogs. We had a great time chatting with local regulars and unwinding in a comfortable, safe environment. Surprisingly, the drinks were not the usual strength expected at most gay bars. Not at all a detractor for us, just worth mentioning if you’re expecting a heavy pour.

The drinks were fine, but the service was not to my standards. Not very welcome at all. I have been to other gay bars in DC several months ago and this one I will probably never return.

May be a good spot for its regulars but as a tourist visiting for the first time, I did not find the place to be very welcoming. Tried to place an order for a drink at the bar many times but one of the bartenders was too busy socialising with some regulars and the other one did not seem to care much. Even when they did take my order, something seemed a bit off with the conversation. Strongly felt out of place. They did not want me there. Overall not a very welcoming experience. Suggest going elsewhere

Would give them a 0 if I could. Went in to use their restrooms and visit a gay bar in DC. First, there wasn’t a bouncer at the door so no one was checking ID so we were able to just walk in. Then we tried going downstairs and the bartender stops us and proceeds to ask for IDs. My friend and I both give our IDs which were out of state, but that shouldn’t matter. The bartender proceeds to take our IDs and goes back to check them with the light. Bartender proceeds to get another coworker to double check I suppose? The bartender comes back, gives us our IDs back (which if the bartender thought they were fake, shouldn’t have returned them) and essentially turns us away without giving a clear answer to why. There was no logical explanation to why my friend and I were turned away. Overall very rude interaction.

This place is an absolute dive bar. That being said, the patrons are very neighborhood oriented and friendly. The drinks are cheap and the outdoor seating is great.

As someone in the food customer service industry of 30 years, I WISH I COULD GIVE 5 STARS! This place is Awesomesauce!!! The best drinks, atmosphere, patrons, music...etc. there was even the most beautiful little dog named Sparky. ❤️❤️ BEST bartender Ali. We thank n appreciate them for such amazing service and going out of ur way to serve my friends n I once to then politely & understandingly explained the bar has no table service. MOST WONDERFUL IN GEORGETOWN EVER.... But beware gaslighting if u seek Amy!!! So after paying 15-18% tip automatically included all weekend in DC, n now maybe 1 too many drinks I'd given my card to my friend who provided it to the bar. When time came to pay, I stupidly signed while stating the aforementioned n sat back down only to have Amy come outside n thankfully point out if I wanted to tip. So I immediately apologized n went to pay the check with my card n tip cash. When I went inside to do so Amy very abruptly/rudely/ assumingly began to yell at me accusing ME of being rude bcuz I was "going to count money in front of her n that is sooo damn RUDE!" Thankfully Ali stepped in n I was able to explain that, though the cash covers the bill entirely I intend it as a tip for the wonderful service provided n to still charge my card. I hope Ali u get all the wonderful things u deserve n we should have more amazing n understanding workers like u in the service industry ❤️
