While I dig their logo and casual, relaxed vibe with mixed seating options indoors and out, The Raven fell short of expectations around cleanliness and guest behavior. While there wasn’t a drinks menu, they had some good brands. Our group ordered draft beer, a cocktail, and some bourbon neat, served in a shot glass. We got two rounds. Drinks were average. The bar was about half covered with empty glasses. I can understand a rush or needing to work through a backlog at shift change and gave it a pass at first, but it was never cleaned for 2 hours. Likewise, the bathroom looked like it hadn’t been cleaned all day. Most of the other patrons were cool, but one guest took off their pants. I try to keep an open mind and let people live their life, but as the night went on, he took off his shirt to just be in a jock strap. Then started moving the waist band around and exposing himself. The staff didn’t issue any corrective action and let the behavior go on. We closed out and left. I asked my gay friends out last night to hang out, catch up, and scope out The Raven. My straight coworker said they wanted to come to a gay bar during Pride month instead of our usual after-work bar. I’m glad we’ve grown as a society to be more inclusive and feel supported at work, but am also glad I did not bring my coworker here. I would have been embarrassed and let down by The Raven.

Visited from Ft Lauderdale just over 3 week stay. Went here for Pride cookout and had a nice time. The guys that own the place I heard for about 4 years and you can see their efforts in making it a really nice clean bar. The patio was very nice. However the patio was filled with what looked like a Lesbian bar and they were loud and obnoxious. It seems that the bars are full of woman in anchorage. Very loud ones too.

I am grateful for the genuine and kind service. Stopped in for a game of pool. Wasn't there long, but I enjoyed my experience. Anchorage LGBT Scene needs more safe places like this.

It’s quiet during the afternoons/evenings but I came to the Pride BBQ and it was poppin and a really diverse fun crowd. Good music and good drinks. Will definitely be back for more events.

Watching the bartender blow his nose and not wash his hand after was very gross....from 10:30 pm till 11:30 pm Saturday night. He was more interested in his phone and picking his ear.

Awesome gay bar! Whether it's for a low-key beer during the day or a party on the weekend, the Raven is a great spot to hang out in Anchorage. Super friendly staff and a good crowd.

Very chill group of locals that come here and enjoy a conversation without loud music you dont have to shout to the person next to you. Very chill place to drink and have a full conversation with the person next to you. The locals are friendly and I would come back all the time. The owners are friendly, the bartenders are friendly. The whole scene is friendly. They make you feel you fit right in with them.
