It has been pre pandemic since I have been to Jackhammer. For some reason I thought for sure I didn’t like this bar. After spending one of the best night I have had in ages , I was wrong. Let’s start with the staff. They were attentive without being creepy. I wanted to try a new drink, so at this time the bar wasn’t busy so asked the bartender. He was very knowledgeable of the products he sold and he came up with some recommendations. All three will be part of my drink collection. The space is deceptively large. And amazingly clean. I will be back and so glad I gave it another chance

Best gay bar in chicago; several clean single-occupancy bathrooms/stalls and a fresh remodel both upstairs and downstairs. FRIENDLY staff, surprisingly affordable drink prices for 2024 and only a $5 cover on Friday and Saturday nights after 10PM

Last night was my first time visiting this bar, and it may well be my last. There was an incredibly rude and condescending bartender in red flannel. It definitely seemed that if you are not his preferred clientele, you are beneath him and undeserving of service. It's not a welcoming environment. #Overrated

Cant say enough about this place. The drinks are reasonably priced, the service is excellent, the upbeat music and events are fun and exciting. It is a great place to meet new people or have fun with people you already know!

Fun atmosphere with lots of different spaces for a variety of activity. Energy depends on the event, but overall pretty positive experience

Wow…what a wild place. Probably my favorite gay bar in the world. Lots things to do both upstairs and in the hole/basement. I’ll definitely be back.

Went there 5/27 and the guy at the door said I was too drunk to come in because I was trying to get my ID out of my wallet and I guess it took too long. Don’t know what his problem was. I wasn’t stumbling or anything like that. Pretty sure it was my skin color. Stay away Black People!!

There was no one upstairs.. they should move the dancing up there. I was there for an event in The Hole. It was so much fun though they said it was dress code enforced, I had the most leather on.
