I’ll offer advice to ease what was also my first reaction: The street view of this place is a little more intimidating than it actually is. The inside is very clean, recently renovated and nice and the people are friendly. It’s a little on the loud side but that’s okay. The other patrons seemed to enjoy the limited selection of standard bar food/snacks. They had mixed drinks and bottled beer but no taps (it seems they are due to be installed some later time, as this place is just recently being renovated). I gather that this place is the Phoenix to the Red Star Saloon’s ashes. The sign for the Red Star is still around there but I think they’d benefit from choosing this title or the other instead of letting map apps be confused. It was nice and I’ll be coming back.
