Pulse Ultra Club

Two times I went to the Pulse nightclub and was treated rudely bc a nasty older straight man with an attitude. Last time he told me I smelled bad and could not be admitted to the club. The first time he told me I had to pay $5 in cash in order to go inside. I go to Neal and Pam’s now, and I always enjoy myself.

Best drag shows in sc. Sara daisy ran the show. Great bar service!

Read the reviews before going , and definitely thought about not going , but decided to go and enjoy myself, good company for Friday night , good drink prices and music selection was on point for 70 percent of the time. Didn’t try any food

Wednesday nights - Born to Drag hosted by Sara Dazie is absolutely fun, fabulous, & fantastic. She has a great crew joining her weekly. John, slinging drinks, behind the bar is always friendly & exceptional. I've been going to Pulse for several years and it's always a great time.

Violent bouncer, I recommend staying out of this place for your own safety. I'm very confused as to why a gay bar would be violent against any queer person. We're supposed to feel safe in our community spaces yet this place and personnel managed to make my friends and I feel very unsafe. My friend has a big scar on his back because the bouncer dragged him by force through the floor out of the bar. Unsettling "LGBTQ+ friendly" behavior. Definitely pinkwashing.

Here’s the updated 2021 review you were looking for!!! -$10 to get in -Yes they take cards -Easy to locate and good parking -It was decorated nicely (Halloween theme) -It’s bigger on the inside! -Pool tables, bar, lounge area, a stage and nice dance floor -Indoor cigarette smoking (I don’t smoke cigarettes and I HATE the smell, but shockingly it didn’t bother me too much). -I was solo but had fun. Friendly crowd. -Ms. Briana is AMAZING Queen of Drags -Btw I’m black (trust me, I know why I wrote this part) -I only took videos, but I’m going to screenshot some parts I was scrolling through reviews deciding if I wanted to go here or not. Many of the reviews were very old. The main one that stood out was the one saying the drags looks like they just got out of jail (lol). That made me really not want to go but good thing I went anyways to get my OWN feel of the place. Idk about the food or drinks cause I mainly went for the drag show and it did not disappoint !!!! My first drag show. It was amazing, the ladies were amazing. Beautiful and full of energy. Not one look like they came from jail . Bring cash to tip the beautiful drag Queens honey!!!!

DON’T EVER COME TO THIS PLACE. I was dragged out of the bar in the most violent way by one of the bouncers (the white guy that looks like he is on steroids). What happened? Well, I was kissing a guy in the bathroom and he kicked us out. I mean… kissing a guy in a gay bar? Of course, you do gay things in a gay bar, you are supposed to be in a safe place. But when he was taking me out I told him that I needed to get my card because I had a tab open, he didn’t let me and I told him again about my card, suddenly he just grabbed me from my shirt neck, I fell on the floor and he dragged me out to the street like a rag doll, ripping the skin up on my back. I am a latino guy, I look like a Latino, I have an accent, I am definitely smaller than this inhuman person that hurt me. If I were white, blonde and blue eyed, would this have happened to me?

Firstly, the food was awesome. Best food I've ever had in a bar. It was kind of dead, but it was also a Thursday night. I really enjoyed it; had your typical bar games, like pool and darts, but also a pin ball machine. The bartender was quick and kind. The drag queens where the highlight of the night; what a fun and awesome group! There where only six people in the stand to start, but the two girls performing on January 4th absolutely killed it. Had a great time. Establishment was clean and spacious. Will definitely be back for another drag show when we don't have work in the morning and can stay for the whole thing. Drinks where also very reasonably priced and tasty! Great amaretto sour, and their house cocktails where awesome as well.
