While visiting the area, We decided to check out a sports bar to catch the Sunday Night NFL game. The place had the usual sports bar vibe, although they called themselves the "5th Street Grill." The wait staff was friendly, and there were plenty of open seats for a Sunday night. The atmosphere felt typical for a sports bar. My group of four ordered some beers, wings, and burgers. The food was average at best, and honestly, overpriced for standard bar food. When the bill came, I was shocked to see an 18% "Sunday Football Tax" along with a 3% "CA Wage Charge." I asked the bartender about these charges, and he candidly explained that the 18% was usually for parties of six or more (we only had four), and the Sunday Football charge was "listed on the menu.” (super fine print int the corner of the menu). As for the 3% wage charge, he said it was to "recover from COVID-19." It's 2024, and it has been a long time since I encountered another establishment charging such a questionable fee. As a first-time visitor, I would have expected the staff to mention these charges upfront. My sons work in the service industry, and I always tip 20% or more based on the service—unless I’m hit with an 18% charge that I didn’t agree to in advance. The next day, I reviewed my bill more closely, and the numbers didn’t add up. The subtotal was $141.75. The 18% "Sunday Football Tax" should have been $25.51, but they charged me $26.99. Sales tax in Santa Rosa is 9.75%, which would have been $13.82, but I was charged $16.83. Then there was the 3% "CA Wage Charge"—it should’ve been $4.25, but I was charged $4.50. I’m not too bothered by the 25¢ difference, but when three line items don’t add up, it makes you question the legitimacy of the charges. I called the next day and spoke with Matt, who identified himself as one of the owners. We had a pleasant conversation where I expressed my concerns. He said he needed to check with someone else and would get back to me. The next day, I received a text from him with a copy of my signed bill (attached). He said he reviewed it with his brother and confirmed that ALL service charges are taxed. Seriously? I won’t be returning. This place seems to be nickel-and-diming customers during tough economic times. I suggest taking your business elsewhere.

Looking for a new place in Santa Rosa to eat the wife and I found this one. We were both happy we did. The owner came to the table and introduced himself very nice guy. They have two nice big bars since the dining room is split up by a wall with a bar on each side. Not only was I happy with their food but if you're into sports they have a TV on almost every table and all over the walls so you can't miss a thing. They also have quite a few beers on tap. One thing I did like is they have all their condiments up by the bar they have quite a few different things up there pretty much everything I would ever need. If you'd like a good lunch or dinner and a nice beer I definitely recommend this place.

Came in on a Thursday night, stood around, had trouble finding someone to give us a menu or direct us to seating so that we could order and eat. Once we were finally seated , I ordered the cheeseburger which was actually the best I’ve had in town . The beer was not memorable . But the burger was cooked medium rare how I asked and the bread was great quality . Would come back just for the burger .

On a Saturday night, felt a little crammed and forgotten about but understandable. I disliked the Expressro Martini and would not recommend it. My SO got their Irish Coffee special and loved it to where he ordered another. We enjoyed a small size of both Mini Corn Dogs and Jalapeno Peppers. Both weren't breathtaking, but hit the spot in terms of delicious bar food.

Probably one of the best sports bars in Santa Rosa and DEFINITELY the best one in the downtown area. The food is pretty good and they have an extensive salad bar which is a rarity these days. I like the sliders and all the chicken sandwiches. If you go there to eat, be warned that it's a pretty decent serving size. Excellent selection of beers and the bartenders are top-notch!

Been a fan of this sports bar since I was old enough to go to a sports bar. A staple in downtown Santa Rosa.

Ausiello’s is a favorite spot here in Santa Rosa, they offer a quiet side, and a loud side, so if you want to watch a game and cheer with your friends they have a spot for you, and if you are there with a date or just want to talk with family, they have a spot for you. Aside from all the typical accoutrements of a bar, Ausiello’s offers some fantastic food, with the grill guys being some of the best in the business! The fried pickles are a local favorite, and the steak sandwich never disappoints. The service was also great, with staff exhibiting a perfect balance of attentiveness without hovering. With outdoor seating as an option, and tables away from the bar, I have been able to bring my son here after afternoon bike rides, for the great food and pleasant atmosphere.

Best sweet potato fries! Hula chicken sandwich was pretty good. A bit dark in the bar, but outside seating is available.
