Backstage Santa Barbara

I celebrated my 21st birthday at Backstage and had an amazing experience. The drinks are great, the service is friendly, and there is a massive selection of beverages to choose from. If you can't decide the bartender can mix something up just for you. The atmosphere is unique with three floors and a mechanical bull, and best of all, the bathrooms are clean and well-maintained.

Young blonde bartender on the third floor over 20 minutes to serve. When feedback was provided to be more mindful of the bar line, she proceeded to insult our looks (hairline for wearing a hat) and then began dancing to belittle our presence. Completely immature, despicable behavior. Plenty of other respectable bars to choose from that don't allow for that kind of act to be served upon patrons.

All I can say is ask to be served with a plastic cup, because I not once, but TWICE, received a glass with black grime caked around the rim of the glass. It was disgusting. And when I asked for a new glass expressing that my current glass was gross, the bartender expected me to just pour my current drink into the new glass (that was also dirty) 😐 I had to explicitly ask for a new drink and a plastic cup.

This place is a hidden gem. Just outside all the hustle and bustle up the street, they have a friendly staff and surprisinly fair pricing for the quality of the food. Definitely check it out and make sure to stop on the 3rd floor.

I absolutely loved this place. The dueling piano was great. We reserved our seats in advance but as the night grew older, more and more people flooded in and ruined our enjoyment by crowding around the performers. Staff cared little about the people actually tipping and requesting song, only the horde of holligans. Genuinely ruined the experience for me. Service and Quality took a major dump after that.

The duelling pianos were amazing and so much fun! If you enjoy live music and seeing musicians in their element, go here. The pianists played straight from 8-11. As a side note, the bar doesn’t serve food but will let you bring in your own.

This is THE best piano bar in the country! My friends and I were treated extremely well by Joel and his staff. The atmosphere was amazing, drinks were strong, staff was extremely professional and attentive, and the Dueling Pianists were so fun! This is THE place to be on a Saturday night from 8pm - 11pm. I will be back every time I am in town.
