Great neighborhood bar. Packed at 2pm on Sat. afternoon with locals. Food looked great. Bartender was fast, attentive, and friendly. Loved the atmosphere and vibe here--kind of like a dive bar but just a little too nice to fit that category. I came in to take a break from packing my house for a move and so a drink here really fit the bill. I love this neighborhood. Parking sux, bit hey, welcome to Austin--it's only a block to easy street parking. Thank you Workhorse for making my day!

In Austin for the Thanksgiving holiday and this spot is a favorite of my brothers. Just a quick jaunt got us to this little spot with a lot of character, but let's talk about why we're all here, the food. Per my brother you can gauge a good restaurant/bar by how good (if they serve it) their sweet potato fries are and these are a knockout (basically the opposite of a Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson match) and the only dancing that's done is with the fries and their Sriracha Mayo as they wait to enter your mouth hole. Their main burger: The Buffalo Bastrop Burger (as pictured) is a delectable journey from ground sirloin city to the tang of the buffalo then to the bite of the bluest of the cheeses which creates the thrill of the ride releasing a satisfaction guaranteed with no need for a warranty. The Mac n Cheese hits you right in the fun bags with its creamy goodness (think Velveeta esq texture), flavor profile, and extra melted cheese saying, "Hey! You have to get through me first!!" and daggumit I will!! Great spot, great food, you shant be disappointed!!

Great local place. Workhorse isn't big, but they have a great tap list, the burger and fried jalapenos were delicious, and everyone was super friendly

Great neighborhood bar with cozy vibes and regular local crowd. Any night of the week you’ll find lively atmosphere and some new friends if you take a chance and say hi to someone. Inexpensive drink options make it accessible to a range of clientele. You can even go during the day for a business lunch or informal dinner. The food has never failed to disappoint. Our server, Erinn from Sweden is one of the best and friendliest people I’ve met in the service industry. Always polite and very funny, she brought food out sooner than expected (shout out to the kitchen) and always checked to see if we needed anything. 10/10 will return and enjoy the food, drinks and camaraderie. Thanks for the good times and see you next time!

Awesome burgers and the monthly special burger is usually pretty fun and tasty (the peach bacon jam one with lemon drizzled arugula was out of this world). It can get packed and sometimes the atmosphere rides the line between intimate and claustrophobic, usually on the weekends. Made some great friends here and had magical evenings. It's a special spot.

I make it a point to visit this bar every time I’m in Austin, but up until recently, I had only sampled their cocktails. On my last visit, I decided to try their whiskey mules—and not just because they were on special. They were so good, I could’ve housed both in one sip! The perfect balance of whiskey and ginger made them incredibly smooth and refreshing. While enjoying my drinks, I met Jacquelyn, a talented local jazz singer, who was sitting nearby with a ramekin of mac and cheese that looked downright irresistible. After seeing how much she enjoyed it, I knew I had to explore their food menu the next time I'm there. The mac and cheese alone is reason enough for me to plan my return visit.

Maybe the only real place for decent people left in all of Austin. Like I can't believe a place this real still exists and I pray that they remain as is. Fried pickles and their "wings" wrapped in bacon are incredible and they have beers priced for actual humans it's amazing.

Workhorse serves up a nice burger. We call it a THIC buddie. So juicy and you get all the flame flavor. I wish the bacon had more to offer but it came out amazing now the less and ready to be dressed with lettuce, tomatoes, onion, and pickles.
