It may look empty in the garage parking lot, but I kid you not, it Issss Nottt! As we arrive for my girls' birthday and greeted very nicely by the bouncer. We walked up to the bar, and it was Kelli's (the bartenders) birthday as well and bought my girl her first drink. Bahddd ass. It's definitely a great spot to kick off or end at. Bring yo singing skills too.

Best Karaoke in Austin, 8 pm until 2 am. Don't try to sing at a chili's, go where everyone is supportive of a person leaving their comfort zone to sing a song they love. Seriously, everyone is always friendly here, as long as you are nice too.

If you vibe high and like to have fun with everyone then Ego's is the place for you! In response to those who posted 1-star reviews, you are the problem. You experience what you bring to Ego's. I have never seen another place like it. I have lived on South Congress for 10 years so am quite familiar with this establishment. Over the years I have on occasion witnessed behavior by patrons, too atrocious to mention, only to run across their 1-star review with them acting all coy and innocent. The truth is they stumbled onto the property, sometimes with a drink in hand (which is illegal) and were loud, rude, obnoxious, and likely more intoxicated than they realize. The door men and staff keep everyone safe and have even helped people get a safe ride home. Responses to other complaints: 1) Parking is something the property owner implemented and has nothing to do with Ego's. Please contact the company posted on the parking signs if you have questions. 2) Ego's doesn't serve food - this app required me to rate food. They typically have cheese balls or other such snacks. 3) There is a $25 preauth on all credit cards. It falls off, and signs are posted. 4) It is female owned and operated so its not 'bros' 5) If you experienced 'attitude' or 'poor customer service' it's likely because you were borderline and staff didn't want to over serve you. 6) Many of the staff and patrons are not Caucasian. Everyone is welcome, supported, and encouraged. Have fun, stay safe, and remember to tip your bartenders and KJs!

This was the best dive bar I’ve been to! We had so much fun with karaoke and the bartenders were super friendly.

First time here on a Monday, and I had the most uncomfortable time I’ve ever had an establishment. For a karaoke night I’d think anyone and everyone is welcomed, but this wasn’t the case Monday night. I noticed no one was singing and it was kinda dead with the karaoke but one customer kept singing and motivating others to sing when they didn’t know the words. The DJ was absolutely rude, it was disgusting!! Everything else about establishment was great except the DJ they hired . If you’re going to hire anyone for the establishment please let it be someone who is going to be polite to the customers and who has some once of customer service/ people skills, especially an entertainer!!!

This is a great place to go sing Karaoke. I heard that they are being forced to close down, and that's unfortunate. Singing is a way to "let it all out" and is therapy to artists like myself and many others in Austin. I am glad I was able to at least experience the magic that happens at Ego's. I will be going back up until they close. They deserve the support. Such great people there, and the staff is beyond awesome and is very friendly. Go support them and have a good time!!!

Great place for Karaoke. The Early Bird Gets The Worm in this Atmosphere. Decent selection of local and Domestic Beers and a Full Bar as well. Lot's of different styles of music and people. A real Melting Pot.

I really want to like this place, but the last two times when I've gone alone to vent and pour my heart out through song, I've waited hours to never hear my name called. There seems to either be favoritism and/or a bad system where people keep signing up and get called often while new people have to wait forever. I'm not entirely sure, but the system sucks. I kinda don't feel bad if this place goes under because nothing is being done to provide a fair and equal opportunity for people to sing. It's a shame because the spot is unique and has its charm. Oh well...
