Absolutely a gem! We had the fried Brussels, chicken liver pate, grilled cabbage, and white bean soup. 10/10 all around. Logan our server was knowledgeable and funny - gave us some suggestions as we are visiting from out of town. The seating is 1st come, 1st served so I could see how it might be hard to find a spot on a busy night. The music was at the perfect level and was upbeat. Once it was a bit later they turned down the lights and let the string lights shine above the bar. Our drinks - the Figgy smalls and sangria were delicious and very affordable. Parking is easy and the rest of the neighborhood seems very walkable. If I lived in the area I would certainly frequent Poor Hendrix all the time.

We had a good dinner here with friends. The restaurant is SMALL, with only a few tables inside. There is also a long bar, and then a rather large covered patio (with fans). We sat outside, and even though it was hot, the fans made it comfortable enough. The ice in our drinks melted quickly, so it would be helpful if they had coasters or drinks napkins to keep the condensation from running all over the table. That was the only real concern, though. The drinks were good, and all the food we got was tasty and thoughtful. Among the 4 of us we got shrimp and grits, Thai chicken salad, and 2 orders of the Hawaiian Fries Chicken Sandwich. We also started with an order of the house made ricotta. Everything was delicious. Service was also good, with our waitress being attentive but also giving us time to look over the menu (which is on a QR code at the table). Overall a great experience and I'm glad we got to try it!

Overall, this is a good and quirky little spot to grab dinner. The food was unique and combined flavors in somewhat unusual ways. Some dishes I thought worked really well (smoked trout dip, broccolini), but others just didn’t quite make sense to me (trout and grits).

I’m giving them a 5 star but if I could I would give it an actual 4.5 star. The staff is amazing and attentive. The drinks I ordered were to perfection. I ordered the tomato soup wich was seasoned wholesome and had a hit of lightness while also being filling. I ordered grilled bread to dip with the tomato soup. The crème brûlée was honestly better than I’ve had in France (good job guys/girls). However, my main dish of steak and frites missed the mark for me on flavor. The frites were perfect but the steak had a gamey taste or a taste that seemed like it was cross contaminated with mussels. The taste of steak was not there for me. That was my only complaint. It was not bad enough to give lower than a 5star (4.5) and I will be visiting again; I’ll just be ordering a different main dish.

Good - staff were super sweet. Food came very quickly. Tasty Bad - flies inside of restaurant, the beer served as a can not draft (should have asked). Side of “chips” bagged chips not handmade (also should asked). Suggest order mix drinks, and french flies for the side.

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. The vibes are great. The food is better. We had the smashed sweet potatoes and buffalo cauliflower. The sweet potatoes were divine, and were unexpected. Their menu changed but don’t think you would be disappointed by anything. My sisters both enjoyed their cocktails too. There is a reason this place is crowded and you should definitely be part of the crowd!!

Amazing local spot with delicious food and cocktails. We shared the spicy peanut cold noodles, fish and chips, and shrimp skewers. The spicy part for the noodles was served on the side so you could add your own level of heat. Fish & chips were like little nuggets of tastiness. Crunchy on the outside and super flaky and tender on the inside. Shrimp skewers were served with a delicious sauce and were grilled and seasoned to perfection. Cocktails were spot on. I got the Gin Clementine Fizz and could have had a whole pitcher! My partner ordered a classic Martinez and that was perfectly balanced. Bartenders were super friendly and knowledgeable! For dessert we enjoyed the creme brulee & cookie sandwich. Everything was scrumptious!

I love this place. Fair prices, delicious and fun food and drinks, and wonderful atmosphere. I come here all the time. I love the grilled cheese with tomato soup. It's one of the greatest foods I've eaten. The focaccia sandwich is amazing too and the shrimp and grits (when they have it) was divine. Definitely worth a visit. Oh, and the cocktails are wonderfully strong:)
