Seabear Oyster Bar

I think Seabear might be my current favorite restaurant in Athens. I came last minute on a Thursday night because I was in the mood for some seafood and Seabear did not disappoint. I ordered their Saturn tiki cocktail which was great and got an order of the shrimp cocktail and a dozen oysters on the half shell. This place is a bit pricey but really really worth it for a great meal.

Used to love it here. Don't think I'll be coming back. Waiter opened the can and just set it down in front of me, no straw no glass. No offer of either. Whereas my caucasian friend next to me received hers in a glass. Vibe was off. Didn't drink it. Just told him to cancel my entire order and let my friend finish and pay for her drink.

This restaurant has the full package. Great drinks, great food, and terrific customer service. As a “foodie” my expectations are high and every dish hit the mark! Just superb! Visiting from metro Atlanta but will make an effort to come back. Nick, our server, was the best.

Always try the oysters. Fresher than fresh. Cocktails consistently on point and the hidden gem is the scallop fried rice. Thursday’s special of fish and chips never misses. Definitely worth the money. Staff always goes above an beyond too. Shout out to Aaron!

Easily one of the best restaurants in Athens. While the wait time can be a bit long on a Friday evening, the food is absolutely worth it. We ordered the lobster rolls and oysters—they are all good. Highly recommend!

Been here multiple times and never been disappointed with the food. On one occasion the oysters weren’t as tasty as I would have expected, but the rest of the food was still great. I like their cocktails too.

Delicious food, huge wine list, specials daily, and nice atmosphere. They got 4 instead of 5 stars from me, since it's a fairly small space and they don't take reservations. They still did a good job trying to accommodate our party and they do have an outdoor space as well, which might be helpful. I wished for more vegan options (there was only one--avocado toast) but the few vegetarian options they had were delicious.

Seabear is one of my absolute favorite date night spots! Everything we've tried on their menu is delicious and I could honestly eat the lobster roll everyday for the rest of my life. Service is wonderful & drinks are delicious. Highly recommend!
