Top 5 bar to visit. Always take my friends here. Get a drink and the mystery shot! Also get your naughty photo on the wall!

DON’T MAKE A RESERVATION! You would think having a reservation would be the move to make, it seems mutually beneficial, right? Wrong! When you put in your reservation you are charged $10 per person which says it will be applied to your tab, sounds good to me. Unfortunately it is not applied to your tab, they welcome you with “Welcome Shots” that seem complimentary, NOPE, that’s the $10 per person that you paid to reserve your table. They don’t even tell you that is what you get for your money, nor do they offer anything else. It’s stealing, it’s bad business, it’s lying & it is taking advantage of your customer. The manager came over when we were trying to close out which I thought that “hey, there’s a problem and they are going above and beyond to fix it and make a customer happy so they would finish the night well and potentially come back” NOPE, I was told that the money towards the “reservation” was for the Welcome Shot and not applied to the tab (which is what it says when you put in a reservation) was explained in the fine print in. How easily you could have just comped the shots that we didn’t ask for and applied it to the tab like you state on the reservation to make a customer happy and return, but now you get an upset customer, a bad review, and someone that will never come back. To whoever reads this review at Killer Whale, I expect that you’ll respond saying “we don’t want you to come back, you suck!” Or some hipster DGAF response, Don’t worry, I won’t be coming back. I don’t support bad business behaviors. But I do feel bad for the servers that get put in a bad position because of your practices, your managers that have to defend it & your customers that are being cheated.

I didn’t really get the hype of this place. It’s a boarded up house that’s all dark on the inside with dim lighting, loud music with good bass, 90min reservation times, & pre-mixed cocktails. I’m a lightweight & usually would be feeling pretty good off 2 drinks, but 2 from here was the contrary. We sat at the bar so I saw all the drinks inside their own labeled bottles. No bartender was mixing or shaking anything, just pouring & decorating them. With how pricey each drink was, that was quite disappointing. It was cool to say I went, I guess, but definitely a one & done.

It’s been a constant “let’s go here” and never getting those reservations—until this time. I’d say, worth the wait. This place has the bad-a$$ attitude and means it. Even with that, it’s a place to feel safe as you have a good time. We celebrated two 21-year-old young ladies, and as their DJ did their bday shout-outs, one guy in the bar screamed “show us your t***,” only to find out later, he was kicked out, as this place will take no nonsense from anyone. The DJ and server quickly came to our table and apologized (even if not needed) but we thought that was incredibly thoughtful. We had a great time. Our girls had a phenomenal time with everyone, as well. (We got cool points with them, so it was an extra win.) Great environment, great music, AMAZING staff. From checking in, to walking out, we all had a fantastic time and definitely will return. Yes, even us older folk. 😛

Great experience. I’d recommend to anyone in their 20s-30s, not sure how well older people would like it. Servers are very knowledgeable and the drinks are great. Also are very accommodating if you don’t like your drink. I recommend making a reservation if it’s a weeknight. Also only $5 for a Polaroid of your group.

You know that person from college that tried so desperately to be cool, but just never quite pulled it off....namely because of how "hard" they tried? That's this bar in a nutshell. Cool concept, maybe was fun at some point in time, but now it excessively compensates to be a hipster parody of a speakeasy

Cool room. Good concept. Great for people for 20’s and early 30’s. For older folks, we just don’t have patience for silly quirks like I experienced. I’m Canadian and I always rave about the warm and welcoming customer service I typically experience when in the states. Unfortunately, this place felt a little too much like home. Went to check it out on a Monday night with the room maybe 10% full. My friend and I were sat at a high top. Asked if we could sit on one of the couches and chill out together, and we would happily move back to the high top if a larger party shows up. With a fake smile in tow, and we were told it’s policy and that she’s not allowed. Cute.

No b******t here! Seriously. Be a grown-up, be cool, and they'll treat you like royalty. We enjoyed several drinks, had a great time talking with our server, and left with a tip for an AMAZING place for dinner just down the street. Thanks, Rashan! Interesting cocktails, unique setting. Not really a speakeasy per se, more of a club feel and a great place to hang and enjoy a few. This is a place you find only by word of mouth. Very cool. Non-gendered single bathrooms. Very very dark atmosphere with just enough light at each table to see your friend's faces. Felt very private.
