The Bar Car

Our favorite neighborhood bar. Great service, terrific food, and an awesome clientele. The bartender "Bar Jesus" is among the best service professionals I have ever known. Always there with a great story or an ear when you need it, he goes above and beyond. Denver wouldn't be the same without him.

Friendly bar tenders. Good drinks and happy hour prices. The decorations are always on point. It's not my regular bar because I don't live near by but it's nice to stop in when I'm in the neighborhood . I tend to stop by while waiting for a movie to start at the theater nearby. Highly recommend

I am new to the neighborhood. So a group of friends and i tried the bar car it was a horrible experience. Bill the bartender is extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, rude and inconsiderate. It took him 20 minutes to bring our drinks. It was more important to talk to his friends. We ordered the pulled pork and it was under cooked. When he brought the the check we got over charged. When confronted him. Then he fixed the tab then tossed it down aggressive at my partner. She told him how rude he is and we left.

A perfectly dark and pleasant atmosphere. During my visit, I had a glass of red wine or 2 and a lovely chat with a friend but the ambience was perfect. Many thanks to the person tending the bar... Their swift action to provide me with endless lemon slices allowed me to sing the national anthem later that evening with ease.

Super crowded, but was able to find a table. Not a young adult atmosphere, more classic bar atmosphere. Staff was super friendly & helpful. Drinks were strong & really good! Heavy pour, which is what we are all looking for! Haha prices were decent. Vintage vibe atmosphere. Great for bar hopping.

We came in at around five thirty, on a Saturday. It was probably a weird one off, but when we walked in we weren’t greeted, nor did the bartender stop her conversation to address us until a different group came in about five minutes later. She walked to them, took their order, and then circled back to us at the bar, which felt a little unfriendly. She seemed lovely with the regulars and the drinks were good, and once her coworker arrived he was friendly, so it was overall a good vibe, just a chilly start. The cheese curds were delicious! We tried the owl saloon the other week and this is their sister bar apparently, so it was cool to see both of them, but if you’re looking for good service, I’d do the owl saloon. If you’re looking to become a regular, bar car for sure!

We have found our new favorite neighborhood bar! Small space, excellent service and they have daily specials. They also serve pretty amazing BBQ here, including other menu items. Several people have come in to get BBQ to-go during our visit, which prompted us to try it --- Did not disappoint, YUM! They also have Bingo here weekly and a DJ on Saturdays which is pretty fun.

Clean with good music. This bar offers inexpensive drinks with staple comfort food options like burger, fries, and bbq plate. Often visited by Congress Park locals, this is a great place to hang out on any afternoon. The restrooms are also clean and I love the industrial look of it. 🙂
