Ay Papi

I got the "Ho Ho Hot Buttered Rum," which was a Christmas special drink. It was supposed to have "Navy strength rum" in it, but basically tasted like hot spiced water. After being asked how it was, I told the bartender it didn't taste like there was any liquor in it at all, and he said, "Oh, it's a strong drink. Just wait for the end." Then proceeded to stir it for me with an umbrella toothpick (after I had already stirred it myself). Of course, it didn't make a difference in taste. My wife also got a drink that was described by the bartender as "light and refreshing," but was syrupy in texture and super sweet with a bitter aftertaste. We were then surprised with a 20% service charge after receiving poor service. So we downed our drinks and left, with me still not feeling any effects of the supposed "Navy strength rum" that was supposedly in my drink.

Ay Papi is the real deal! Great energy, amazing decor, and a well curated vibe. Connor, made our experience exceptional with his warm hospitality and attention to detail. He went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and it really made the night special. Can’t wait to come back and thanks for everything! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fantastic night out in Denver.

The best ambiance in cherry creek. Connor the manager is awesome and knows how to make his customers feel special and seen. This spot will continue to get my support and business.

Get atmosphere for a sophisticated but casual date. Connor took great care of us while dining and drinking. This place has become a regular spot for me now. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good time in cherry creek. I would even drive across town for ay papi.

Great atmosphere, our server was wonderful, and excellent drinks! Very good classic mojitos as well as interesting and complex rum concoctions, and very generous garnishes. Also, the music is enjoyable but not too loud

Truly a terrible experience. The atmosphere is nice, but the place was packed with empty “reserved” tables that stayed vacant all night. It’s absurd they wouldn’t let anyone use them. Worse, they sneak in an automatic 20% gratuity and still ask for an additional tip. It’s deceptive, and they clearly do it on purpose. Drinks are overpriced and nothing special. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

VIbey little gem in the creek that we all knew we needed. 🙂 Rum centric but made my marg just right. Nice bar, smaller, dog friendly, nice tunes, chill energy in the full space early eve on a Saturday. Was able to score street parking right next to the venue. If you love cocktails in Cherry Creek, you clearly need to check this place out! The hamachi was delish but doesn’t outdo Kini’s almond raspberry goodness. Menu is limited. Two rounds for 2 and an appetizer at $125. I will be back. 🙂

They blend their own rum for their cocktails, so you'll be sure to have a unique experience with all of their rum-based cocktails. Don't forget to feed your munchies with their plantain chip and dip as well as their exquisite cubano sandwich. Oh, also best pina colada I've ever had.
