Cute wine spot, the selection of wines to sit and have by the glass was a bit underwhelming, but the wine was good. The interior is cute and could use some more sound buffering and decor. The Hippo is worth a stop in.

You’ll find endlessly interesting wines at downtown Raleigh’s neighborhood wine bar and shop - The Hippo! Loved the selection of natural wines. So enjoyed my glass of Grüner I took home a bottle! Convenient location in the heart of the city (across from 42 & Lawrence cafe / SkyHouse Raleigh) - open daily! 2 - 10P.

Great vibe, love the hippo mascot! Service is quick, very reasonably priced by the glass and bottles for DTR.

One of my most favorite spots to sip wine in the triangle. Fun, eclectic, vibrant and welcoming space. Sorena makes everyone feel at home, and she goes above and beyond with recommending wines that suit the mood and the budget...she even breaks out games to play while you're sipping!!

Small wine bar with bottles to take home also. Friendly staff: much more approachable than other wine bars in the area.

Top wine shop around for sure. The owner, Sorena is the bomb and if you’re lucky you’ll meet her dogs too

Their sign says they should be open but they're not. I really wanted to shop local but now I have to drive to a big grocery store.
