Visited for Sunday brunch upon a recommendation from a friend. I was a bit disappointed after all that hype. Bar Brava is in a very sketchy part of Newburgh. We turned the corner and walked straight into a drug deal! That was a very large knife in his sock. The restaurant is quite attractive and colorfull as well as very clean. Aces on the bathroom. The menu is quite pricy for what you get. The service was incredably slow. There were only 8 people in the place. The sangria pitcher and glasses were so full of ice that the wine was watered down and about 2 small glasses each $. The octopus (pulpo) was sadly very overcooked and swimming in oil. The version of eggs Benedict was so very small but nicely poached, although I expected the sausage to be part of the sauce and not just sprinkled on top. The french toast was dry bread in the center. Two small slices were placed very creatively to look larger. The whipped cream was very tasty. All in all, we will not be doing a $100.00 brunch there again in the near future.

It was totally empty on a Saturday night and the menu online is different than the one they had there. They should take the name tapas out because there wasn't a selection and were even out of the ones they had on the menu there. However the food we got was very good. The guy there was friendly. I really hope they succeed.

I was a bit bummed when I sat down. The menu online is not the same in person. I was hoping it would be more Spanish tapas, but the food was more tapas meets regular bar (burgers, wings, quesadillas, chips and guac). I know there’s paella but we wanted to just get a bunch of tapas so it wasn’t what we hoped. However, the food we did have (two apps) and the wine were good and the service was very friendly and attentive.

Started my Saturday night here and it did not disappoint. The drinks and tapas were amazing, and the atmosphere was super friendly. Must visit when in Newburgh.

I want to preface this review by saying the food we got was outstanding and the service was excellent but I’ve been dying to try this place and finally got the chance to and was sadly really disappointed. I don’t understand how you can advertise yourself as a tapas bar and keep the old menu posted if your new menu is so very different. I’ve been dying to have authentic tapas and therefore have been really looking forward to this restaurant. When we sat down and saw that it was basically a throw up version of every other trendy bar it was so off-putting! We ended up ordering what our server, Joey, suggested and it was all delicious but it didn’t satisfy our wants. I think this is a real serious case of false advertising. I hope they can either redirect their menu or how they advertise themselves. Though, I think they’d stand out amongst all the other bars with their spanish theme if they brought that back.

Awesome experience. Felt like a members-only spot. Eats was crazy. A must-go for tapas lovers.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bar Brava....more than once, it's a great tapas place. It has a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. One of the standout features is its live music. On Thursday nights, the restaurant comes alive with the soulful sounds of jazz. The talented musicians create an ambiance that is both relaxing and invigorating, adding an extra layer of enjoyment to the dining experience. Now, let's talk about the food. Bar Brava truly excels in this department. The menu is a treasure trove of delectable tapas options, each one more tempting than the last. From savory bites to indulgent treats, there is something to satisfy every palate. What sets Bar Brava apart is the consistent quality of their dishes. Every single item on the menu is prepared with utmost care and attention to detail, resulting in a burst of flavors with each bite. In terms of ambiance, it strikes a nice balance between cozy and lively. The dim lighting, modern decor, and comfortable seating create an intimate setting that is perfect for a romantic date night or a gathering with friends. The lively chatter and the background music add to the overall charm of the place, making it a memorable spot to unwind and enjoy good food. Overall, my experience was wonderful…..already have been there 3 times this month! The combination of delicious food, lively atmosphere, and excellent service makes it a must-visit for any food lover. Whether you're looking for a place to indulge in mouthwatering tapas or simply want to immerse yourself in a vibrant dining experience, its a solid choice.

Came late night for a snack and drinks. Loved the idea of a tapas bar. We got a variety- the tapas are a 2 bite size. I liked the fried eggplant, quail egg, and the red pepper wrapped anchovies. The "wiz- cheese" was a little off-putting and could do without. But it's fun to have these morsels to accompany a proper drink. Would def like to come back and try the other options. Fingers crossed to be blown away- cause let's be honest, the bucket of fried chicken, biscuits, and greens, when it was mama rouxs was epic... so hopefully this spot will keep up that momentum.
