The Sports Center

Our first time here since the new owners and manger came into play. Love the atmosphere, they manage to update while keeping the home town rooted charm. The food is amazing everything we tried exceeded expectations and everything we saw come out of the kitchen looked amazing! Definitely recommend! They even left the iconic sports center sign outside! Our service has been exceptional.

Service 3/5 - the waitress came around every once in a while, but I had better luck going to the bar. Atmosphere 5/5 - it's a bar but had a DJ. There are 2 free pool tables next to free dart board. You just have to sign out the darts from the bartender. Pool sticks were straight but there isn't any chalk for hands so bring your own or a glove. The stick chalk was old and split but the bar was able to replace it when asked. There is also free water for people to grab at will.

We were looking for a place to hang out before a show at the Capitol Theatre. Wow! We found a great place in the Sportscenter! They had music playing at 6pm, a great menu selection ( the chicken street tacos were fantastic) and an energetic staff! We were not able to stay for the DJ at 9pm, but we will be back for sure! Update as of 11/02/2024: Tonight I had my birthday party at The Sportscenter! They catered a taco bar that was absolutely outstanding! Kudos to the Chef! He did a fabulous job on the presentation of food and the amount of food that I got for my money was more than enough! Erin, the manager, was so great to work with and was accommodating on everything to make my night special! The DJ and music was also great! Thank you!

Met up with some family last night for drinks and pizza. There was only one server when we got there, and it took some time for our orders. We didn't mind as she was friendly and made us feel welcomed. Drinks were great, and the pizza was some of the best I've had.

Busy on street parking or better parking located on the south side. Place gets busy, crowded, and loud later in the day. Bar seating and table seating available. It was hard for us three to get another spot for bar seating when another person arrived. Food was tasty and hot, not soggy. Mixed drinks were good.

Went last night with some friends as their DD and their security were very rude, and instigating everything instead of trying to defuse any thing and were very inappropriate made the whole experience uncomfortable. would love this place if you had calmer, more professional people that were securing the premises.The rest of your staff is great and the music is great

Sports has a special place in my husband's and my heart (it is where we shared our first kiss!) so we were worried when we heard it was getting a make over. But it looks great in there! Corrine was our server and she was so fun and adorable. She was so happy to chitchat with us and answer any questions we had. I didn't get to take a picture of our pretzel appetizer as we inhaled it! All around the atmosphere was great, drinks were tasty, and so was the food. I will say the pizza wasn't tops and we missed some of the old staff. But again overall it was a great night out!

Just stopped in for a drink. Bartenders really kind. Place was clean. I didn't eat anything.
