The Octopus Bar

Fun dive bar. Good for quick eats. Plenty of beer and cocktails made to order. The bar is themed like an episode of SpongeBob with life perseveres and bouys hanging everywhere. There is a couple of fish tanks as well. The staff is really nice and the drinks come out quick. It’s located in a great area in Wallingford that is easily accessible from the university district, Fremont, Ballard, and downtown. I would highly recommend this spot for a night out with friends or a quick drink in a date.

Ok, I walked into Octopus the first day they opened.. I was a several times weekly customer, chatted with the owners every visit, and loved it. Never an issue, brought 3 friend in tonight, after 2 1/2 years and unless you change ordering protocol I'll never step foot in here again. Two processes separate to order food and drinks, after 20 minutes of trying to order from the menu, after receiving our drinks we approached the bar, after attitude and argument we ordered. During the whole event, a woman came to the bar, ordered food and drink for her table, no issue. FOOD ordered. We left after one drink and the food and I used to spend hours here. I was tempted to just leave. Trevor, sorry, I was more than disappointed.

Had a really fun time playing trivia and met some cool people, but had never been carded this many times or as rudely in my entire life. Not sure if it was a one off, but my partner and I showed our IDs to the person checking at the front and as soon as I walked past him and he handed me my ID back someone from the bar screamed at us saying we didn't show ID...I looked right at him and said that I did, they just checked it and walked to find a seat so I'm pretty sure he heard me. A few minutes later he comes running from behind the bar to our table and yells at us to show our IDs from our seats and really aggressively grabs them out of our hands. I said again I had showed my ID at the front and he said "the guy said you didn't". He quickly handed them back and stomped away. I know I look young, but I'm 31...not trying to sneak my way into a bar at 6pm on a weekday for trivia. Very odd. Hope this doesn't happen again as that was really upsetting and we had a good time there otherwise, would like to return unless this happens again will likely find a new spot.

Fun spot! The nautical theme is perfectly executed, and the quirky photo booths and vending machines add to the party atmosphere. The cocktail list is something worth exploring, and the beers on tap are mostly local and top notch. The bar tender was very friendly and made a great drink for us!

I think the decorations might be the only good thing about this bar. Otherwise, everything has been a pretty bad experience every time I come here. The bartenders don't provide good service and can have attitudes. One time I came in here they were playing really bad hip hop music that had the n-word in literally every song. When I said something to the bartender they gave me nothing but attitude. Most recently when I came in here and sat at the mostly empty bar the bartender started talking to these two other people and completely ignored me until I got up to leave and she finally said something but it was too late and I was leaving. Maybe weekends are better because one time I came in here and there was a DJ and dancing and it was pretty fun and busy. But at least on weekdays this is definitely not the best bar to come to in Wallingford.

My favorite "Coaches Corner " I love this place, it's funky, fun and they play the best music. Drinks are great. We have kicked it here. Dancing and having a great time. Roll through, and you will be surprised.

Trevor and Liza have a LGBTQIA community bar and restaurant that is all about love in this world Brother's and Sisters. There passion runs through every detail of the Octopus Bar. They give back to the Community on so many levels and I'm proud to tell everyone I know to visit the Octopus Bar and enjoy the chillaxing vibes there. Excellent service. Had a great cocktail. I really appreciate the large NA menu. Would love if they had more vegitarian food
