This place was recommended to us by friends, and we're so glad we went to check it out. Ayla served us, and based on my cravings, she recommended a seasonal cocktail, the Water Bird cocktail. It was delicious and exactly what I envisioned. My friends ordered different types of Mules, and everybody loved their choices. Kat prepared our cocktails. Thanks to both Ayla and Kat for making our experience wonderful! We'll be back next time we're in Duluth.

Very nice atmosphere. When we came in, it was very busy on a Friday night, and seating was limited. We had to wave the waiter in. Drinks were good and strong. It's quite noisy when it's packed. We parked inside the ramp 2 blocks away or street parking if available.

This was my favorite bar in duluth, hands down. Bartender was amazing and made a phenomenal old fashioned. Atmosphere was just perfectly balanced with dim lights and low music, with a 1920s vibe. Amazing drinks, amazing atmosphere. If you're in the area, stop by and check out this speakeasy.

Cool place, somehow lacks atmosphere despite the cool location. Have to wait in line 20-30 minutes on a weekend. For the prices there should be a cocktail waitress or better bartenders. Drinks were just fine not great

This place is very cool and the cocktails were superb. Located in the basement of the Old City Hall, the Rathskeller was actually the Duluth jail when the building was built. The stone walls create a fantastic vibe and acoustics for the music. We were lucky enough to see the Hot Club of Duluth play Django Reinhardt style 1920s jazz during our visit. This group is terrific and apparently plays at the Rathskeller every Tuesday. If you're in Duluth on a Tuesday evening and like classic jazz, it's a must see.

I had a magical time. Bartenders were friendly and inviting. Drinks were stellar. There were a lot of muppet enthusiasts (as well as myself) and it made for a most excellent experience. Was my favorite bar for my road trip. I went back a second time! And I’m sure I’ll return again. And I found my new favorite song to listen to on Friday. <3

Loved the vibe. A local jazz band The Hot Club of Duluth was playing along with a live painter Kat Ford when I visited. Some customers were dressed up which added to the vibe but that’s not required. All of them were coming together to create this classy yet not so formal, vibrant yet chill atmosphere which I enjoyed so much.

Our favorite place to visit in Duluth! Old jail holding cells converted into a speakeasy and supposedly haunted. Enter through the back alley, head down the stairway underground to walls of stone and dim candle-lit tables. The vibe is awesome and the drinks ridiculously good! Visit close to Halloween and order the Fall Finish.
