Visited the Shanty Family Tavern this afternoon for lunch and cocktails and we were very impressed. Drinks, food and service were all excellent. Plenty of tv’s to watch with all your favorite sports! Check them out, you’ll be happy you did.

If you just are wanting soup and lighter fare — with a good draft beer - then this is the place. Both the clam chowder and French onion soup are some of best I’ve had. Full of flavor (as I also tasted my husbands!) The bang bang shrimp is excellent with just the right amount of sweet flavor and crunch. If I lived in NH I’d come back for sure!!

I wasn’t expecting much because it’s a local tavern. Sat down at bar by myself. Bartender (long light brown hair) didn’t approach me for about 15min, when she did show up, I told her I was going to order food. She said she didn’t have any more menus, she’d have to go look. I sat there and waited, during which time I looked the menu up online. When she was walking down my side of the bar, 20min later, I just called her over and said I’d like to order some food & a beer (told her I found the menu online) She then indicated that she would give me a beer, but she needed to take care of a couple of people first (who had just gotten there!) A regular customer just happened to sit by me and she was right there for him and said do you want your regular white Russian? He said sure. She threw a menu on the bar, (didn’t hand it to me or say anything, like; Hey I found you a menu, or SOMETHING!) She walked away, got the regular his white Russian within seconds!…I had to stop her & ask her again if I could order my food! It was quite disheartening. Because I was nothing but kind and extremely patient! After another server gave me my food, she never returned to see if I needed anything or even asked me how I was doing. YET, she proceeded to ask-then give the “regular” two more drinks (white Russians) & hoped he liked them and hoped she was making them better for him. When I was finally done eating, I flagged someone else down to get my check and a box for my leftovers. The other dark haired waitress was happy to help me. In fact, she was the only one that asked while I was sitting there how I was doing. She quickly got me what I needed. The other server/Bartender sighed and said she needed a break. never saw again and finally called the other Bartender to take my check for me. Kind of disappointed because the situation was totally avoidable. All I wanted was a simple order and a beer. I didn’t dare ask for water. Or even think of a dessert (not sure if they even have any) The “regular” person came in 45 minutes after me, got three drinks, an order to go, paid his bill, and was out a half hour before me. I mean, what the heck?! Wish I could leave a better review, but my experience was not very good. The food was OK.

Always a good time at the Shanty! Service this past time was great. Kids generally get the same - Mac & Cheese and Cheeseburger/fries. I had a Stromboli for the first time and will definitely get one again. I ordered eggplant but was later told they were out, so I went with sausage. All good, but had my taste buds set on the other! The usual is a Reuben, which is always good. This is a place we will continue to visit, without question.

good bar food. decent pizza. decent chicken tenders ( smallish amount of fries). bone-in wings were good - buffalo. right amount of heat. jambalaya was decent. what you would expect at a bar/ grille got the job done. three cheers to the wait staff. undermanned and outgunned by crowd. they were great and I tipped well because of it.

Love , Love, Love the Shanty - a favorite for a local place for great food and happy people. The Bartenders (we always sit at the bar) are engaging, the clientele are mostly locals and newcomers. My favorite! Seriously, pretty much anything on their menu is good. But the Thunderbird is really my favorite. Seriously just look at their menu and enjoy!

Crystal makes the best Bloody Mary ever and has a great attitude and personality. We split the cheesesteak sandwich and it was perfect. Loved the onion rings too. Thanks for the perfect lunch break.

A hole-in-the-wall pub with a fair selection of draft beers. A long bar and friendly bartenders who were quick and attentive. I ordered the tater tot pountine with pulled pork. It wasn't piping hot which but it was HUGE and delicious and hit that gravy craving. that gravy though. Mmmm. They call it a glaze on the menu and it is delicious with a herb hint that just makes it feel like home. The menu also claims the tots to be "crispy". Hell yah they are. Crispy tots under gravy? Magicians. You will not be disappointed here.
