It was my family's first time there. The food was great...just a bit overpriced for what you get. The restaurant is way understaffed. We got dirty silverware, and it kind of made sense as they had servers taking turns washing dishes etc and they even told us that they didn't have clean silverware at the moment and that they were washing them by hand so it'll be just a minute before we could get more. They charge a surcharge for using a card, which was not explained, or we would have just used cash. We had a table of 7, but with 2 separate checks. They added gratuity automatically, which is too bad bc I would have given way more of a tip myself. But since they decided what tip I should leave, it saved me like $15. The hidden surcharges that are not told up front is what will make this place not last long. Y'all should stop that shady shit and be more up-front with your customers. All in all it was ok...nothing to brag about. Won't be back.

My 1st visit I started with the Mussel appetizer and it was very good. The cream and parmesan made the dish. I ordered the Salmon Entree and I wasn't too impressed with the salad. Their Ranch dressing was very weak and for some reason the salad had Roasted Red peppers in it which seemed more like a filler to me. The Entree tasted very well but they really did slack on how many asparagus they gave me. ( total asparagus pictured) I would go back but only for appetizers and drinks. They do some weird food and love them some carrots for some reason.

We had to make a decision on where we would go for dinner and after having a wonderful lunch last week we came to Routh 290. there were 5 of us, our daughter, her husband and son and my husband. We all had mostly different meals, but everyone said how great the food tasted. I did want to mention our amazing waitress, Sara. Her smile, kind words and most of all the sincere concern to make sure we were treated well throughout our stay. This is defiantly a restaurant you need to try if you have not already done so. The choice of food is great and everything tasted fantastic. If you are lucky, you will get Sara as your waitress, trust me she will make your time so enjoyable. Cheryl

Tonight we decided to have dinner at Route 290. This was my first time at this location and my wife having had lunch there a few weeks back said let's give it a try. So my wife, daughter and her family came there around 6pm. Once seated we were greeted by one of the most friendly and caring waitresses we have ever had. Sara was nothing less than Amazing from her first words to our parting after a wonderful dinner. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of the food and most of all the fantastic service that Sara provided. You can be sure we will be back and though it looked as everyone was pleasant our fist words will be can we have Sara as our waitress. Trust me give this restaurant a try, you will be glad you did. Sunday night, the kitchen was out of stock on a few items, nothing to affect me with what I was order. Bartender was great, had a few beers. My bacon cheeseburger was delicious, cooked to order. Came with fries, they serve the small thin fries, not my favorite, but I’ll eat them.

Decor was great, but subpar food quality. Fried green tomatoes had sauce that looked to be made out of cheese-wiz. BBQ didn't taste any better than what I make in a croc-pot. Fries we frozen with a good seasoning. Shrimp in the shrimp and grits had to be peeled so hands now smell like shrimp. Nothing made us feel like we must come back, which is a shame because I love supporting local businesses.

It was my husband and I’s first time eating at Route 290 and we were pleasantly surprised. The food itself was delicious with generous portions and our waitress Sarah, who was extremely attentive, made the whole experience all the more delightful. Sarah had such a genuine/authentic personality…it was almost refreshing since nowadays that attitude seems hard to come by. I highly recommend giving this place a try if you haven’t already; I know my family and I will definitely be back there soon!

******PLEASE ADHERE TO THIS REVIEW******I'm here to leave the most honest review that I can! BEWARE.....I am here in the Spartanburg/Duncan area helping the people who have been affected by the hurricane, so today on 10/06/2024 Me and a Co-Worker decided to checkout this place for Sunday dinner. The initial walk in and sit down was normal and the atmosphere was somewhat of what you would expect of a sports grill! The waitress was polite nice and professional both of them kept a smile at all times, thanks ladies! The FOOD: The food was terrible, I ordered the ribs fries and coleslaw. The Ribs came out tough and chewy around the edges and the coleslaw was yuck! the fries were ok. The acting Manager who is supposed to be the bar manager came over and tried to tell me the ribs were not old, Dude I'm 40 years old and I think I know old food when I get it. I decided to give it another shot at a different item, I ordered the wings, shrimp& fries and when I tell you the flavor of both the wings & fries were horrible I MEAN HORRIBLE! I ate the shrimp & fries just cause. The wings I could not do the flavor was not there...i personally don't think they were tossed in the sauce. CHECK TIME: Ok so the check comes and I ask the waitress if she could have the wings removed because they were not good (I jus settled for the fries & shrimp) again the shrimp were horrible as well and very small. So the acting manager comes and do you know this guy literally had the nerves to tell me he wasn't removing the wings because other people had wings I guess earlier and they didn't have any complaints. I was baffled, and just said ok to keep from going back and forth with the little guy. I tells the guy to bring my check and to leave my table at this point because clearly you're an idiot for comparing my taste buds to another person's taste bud.....MY GOD!! I was trying my best to remain professional and not escalate things and then the damn guy tells me he doesn't have to remove his self from my table because he works there lol (imagine that). Then the guy tells me I don't have to come back.... sir I am not from here and definitely won't be coming back I can promise you that!! I paid a $40 dollar check only ate fries and 1/2 of my shrimp and of course I tipped the waitress!!! This was terrible and this establishment made the town of Duncan look bad!! Carry your business elsewhere if you are hungry....Worst experience ever Oh and not to mention my co-worker steak was suppose to be bone-in ribeye and the damn steak didn't have no damn bone and appeared to definitely not be 16 oz's they brought out a damn Waffle House steak!!
