The Ship

Let me start off with this is a must experience place! The low stars are because they had 1 (very busy) waitress for the whole bar/dining area, so service was very slow. And the food...50/50...fried pickles were great, but there Mac n cheese had absolutely no flavor to it. The place itself...a definite must see! It's a very unique bar, with a history and I would like to try it again sometime.

Love this spot day & night~ The ship mates & service are amazing! If you like a little kick try the Blackberry Jalapeño Margarita {mixed in house} && while you're onboard I recommend the fried pickles + peppercorn sauce && the shrimp and sausage skewers + remoulade sauce appetizers! Vibe is on point Next time I will take pictures of my food & beverage!

We had a fantastic time with live music, good cocktails, and great food. The service was great, they took us in our reservation immediately. Great bar and space if you want to go out for dancing and drinks when they have live music. Highly recommended. Parking easy. Well lit feels very safe.

Trying to support local small businesses but definitely regret trying this one. The fact that I bit into a raw burger (not warm pink center I mean cold in the middle) ruined my appetite. I usually never leave a review and get my refund or what not. But the fact that the guy was more upset about me bringing it back than I was after having to waste time to go back was the cherry on top just plain rude. Arguing the burger is cooked according to the cook but it definitely looked like it touched the griddle and pulled off after two seconds. No apology or a care in the world and definitely not a goodbye needless to say they were never friendly even when I initially came in for my order. I walked out once they left me there waiting on my refund and I got the email confirmation.

Fun casual place for dinner, the best local live music & dancing. Delicious gumbo & 18th & Vine beer on tap. Free street parking close by & friendly staff

My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting The Ship for our date night, and I’d like to share our experience. First and foremost, the French fries and Apple Cinnamon Bread Pudding were outstanding! These two items truly stood out for us. However, we did notice a few aspects that could benefit from improvement. Upon entering, we found the ambiance to be a bit overwhelming, with an odor reminiscent of a musty attic, which affected our overall experience. Additionally, we encountered some difficulties with communication, as the phone was not answered during our attempts to reach out. We also noticed that daily dessert options were not available, contrary to what the menu suggested. Overall, it was a unique experience, and while we appreciated the highlights, it may not be a place we revisit. However, others might find it to their liking!

Very unique place, wish I had visited sooner. Loved the pirate ship / speakeasy themed interior. Excellent service and delicious Reuben. Nice low-key option for lunch when in the West Bottoms.

I love The Ship, it's a great venue with friendly staff. I've experienced many different types of shows at this venue as well. There is a little bit of something for everyone. It's also a very large venue, with lots of different little areas to hang out in. One of the coolest spots in KC!
