Beer & Loathing

My husband and I, a couple of weary travelers, got into town late in the evening. We were happy to stumble into Beer and Loathing for a bite and a beer. We were completely surprised to find a place still serving food after 9pm. Add to that the great food and atmosphere, we had a hit! They were out of some staple items and beers, but the food, service, and atmosphere make up for it.

We were just passing through and the name drew us in. I loved the atmosphere. Just a small bar with bar food. But it was decorated for Halloween and looked great! The food is good and the place has a great vibe. The prices were very reasonable, too. Please visit and stay a while. I'd love it to be there next time we pass through!

A bar you'd expect to find in Las Vegas but it's in Kimball, NE. The owners were amazing and the bar staff were too. It's a funky tribute to Hunter S. Thompson with a classic bar look. No funny business here, just fun and beer. Locals were cool and the area felt safe. I absolutely recommend. *If you have peanut allergies, don't even walk by the door, lol.

We ate in the open area in the front. I actually thought the inside was pretty cool, but we wanted the open air. There was only one person working the bar area, so I think she had her hands full. Food was really good, waitress, bar tender, bus girl, was very nice and efficient. I'd eat there again if I was passing through.

Me and my roommate went to the bar and decided to play on the slots today. The owner Heather pulled my roommate aside and said she had needed to stop trying to rip her bartenders off over the slot machine malfunctioning. My roomie and I have spent thousands of dollars in there with no problems before. The owners actions were absurdly unjustified. She should treat customers with more dignity and respect. As I have never once asked for a refund. I always left a tip because I know how underpaid the bartenders are. The owner was even so petty to send me screenshot of this review on Facebook messenger I and can prove it, as I've done nothing wrong. I hope she can learn to be a better business owner and human being.

Only giving 2 stars because Nate is a great guy. I called to see if I could place an order for food, the female owner, Heather was irate for me calling. She stated they were closed. I explained she needs to update her hours on Google. She said they just changed the days. Well why are you answering the phone if your closed? She then hung up on me. Sorry for trying to give you my business.

If you like a dive bar with a funky theme you will love this place! Fear and Loathing trippy decor, games and smoking patio, peanut shells littering the floor, and a friendly boxer making the rounds greeting people. The steak sammich was yummy, beer was cold, and staff were super nice. Cheers ya'll

Wonderful atmosphere and people! Came on a road trip up to South Dakota and of course had to stop! The bartenders were friendly, made exceptionally delicious drinks, and good conversation! Love the dive atmosphere and can't believe someone is trying to ruin this place for others. Don't believe the fake reviews, this place is amazing!
