Cabaret Sports Bar & Grille

One of my favorite bars in Ankeny! We went there last week and got the cheese curds and buffalo wings...and shocking, they might have been the best wings I have ever had! There was live music which was also awesome. Quick service, kind staff. My husband & I had the best date night there (sat at the bar).

The live musician was amazing and played lots of great country songs. The woman bartending was very considerate and quick, and the pickle fries and jalapeño poppers were awesome! Had a great night 🙂

We went last night to try to get a late dinner. With 4-6 employees all at bar, no one greeted us, came to our table, or checked in. My husband and I ended up switching tables due to glare from lights. We waited another several minutes with no acknowledgement. We had employees walk by us. After waiting several minutes with no acknowledgement or service, we walked out. It was not busy. The employees saw us and chose not to come to our table. To say we are disappointed would be an understatement. We had previously had ok service at other visits but wait staff has seemed to decline rapidly. If you are looking to eat or drink, I'd recommend avoiding this place.

The team at Cabaret is friendly, and the food selection is a welcomed plus in comparison to other bar restaurants in Ankeny. They have a great selection of sandwiches, including original and unique tenderloin options I highly recommend! If pizza is your thing, there's a good line of ingredient full and tasty options. Beyond the normal options found everywhere, you'll have more clever and appetizing options at Cabaret. The appetizers are good and sized as expected. Make sure to pair your evening with a cocktail off the menu, this is top notch. The vibe is good, better with a nice evening on the patio. The staff and people make this a place worth visiting if you're out. Very reasonable pricing and a fair amount of seating even in the peak hours.

Our party ordered a tenderlion sandwich, salad, and pizza. Tenderloin was okay - about the same quality as a gas station option with better bread and toppings options. Salad was a salad, but the garlic parmesan dressing tastes more strongly of garlic than popping a raw clove in your mouth. And the pizza. Imagine the cheapest college dining hall you've ever been to, and this is still somehow worse. It made me crave a Jack's or Tombstone - something you could get for under $5 in the frozen section at a grocery store. Crust, sauce, cheese, toppings, all underdone and bland. I would eat a lunchable pizza before ordering theirs again. We came at very slow time, shortly before the kitchen closed for lunch, and still waited 10 minutes for the server to check on us. Nice looking establishment with quaint outdoor area though, which is about all it has going for it.

It is a great bar with good food. The wings and pizza are very good. It has many TVs for sports. Sometimes service is a little bit slow, but they are attentive and fun. I would recommend this place.

Went for live music and the Iowa game. It was absolutely amazing. Fret noise rocked out at half time and after the game. We ordered the cyclone pizza and it was phenomenal. The only complaint is there was not enough room for everyone but they did their best to accommodate us

We had a great time. Terrific service and a relaxing patio. Thanks for the pet friendly option. We'll bring our furry family member next time.
