Dr. Getwell's Bar & Grill

Happen to be in town a few days with my family and wanted to swing by this place. I have always been a fan of the Hawkeye, and I knew this place had a connection. I was pleasantly surprised, by everything! I was with a party of 8, they had no problem accommodating us, and the service was superb. I enjoyed a French dip, and I truly mean enjoyed. Everyone at the table had nothing but rave reviews about their meals. We definitely tried out the drink menu, it was also good, too good! If I were in town this would be a regular spot for me. Affordable, great service, and an abundance of delicious options.

Husband and I were traveling through and stopped here to eat. I got the tenderloin with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. Good portion and was delicious! Husband got the catfish and fries. He said the fish was good. The fries were a little soggy and cold so not as good as they looked. We would definitely recommend going. Reasonably priced.

We visited on Labor Day. They were obviously understaffed on a holiday. The food was OK. The catfish was great, but nothing else was very good. the chicken fried steak was tiny and covered in gravy, so you couldn't see the full size. It took almost two hours for us to have lunch. My kids were very done and tired due to the wait. The waitress was friendly but put other customers that arrived after us on higher priority so that they got their food and left long before we did. A very disappointing experience, unfortunately. Holidays are always busy. Please staff accordingly

Food was good & served hot. Shrimp was really good. Just had Friday night catfish and crazy fingers chicken strips. Was really good. Had lunch again today. Hot Roast plate was really good. Had meat loaf lunch today. It's good. Catfish Friday lunch. Getwells is always a great choice. Today March 2024 food was almost cold to warm. (Not hot at all ) Green beans were cold. Service never good.

We were both tired after traveling all day and looked for something easy. Interesting place and busy. We figured out that they offer a buffet (fried chicken, mashed potatoes, ribs, etc.). Food was good and constantly replaced because it was busy. They do also have a menu but the buffet was not disappointing.

First time being there... thoroughly impressed...got a special (country fried tenderloin, taters and green beans) and it was all great! And the pie was homemade! You guys in the kitchen take pride in your work and the waitress was pleasant and helpful!

It was our first time visiting the Doctor's, and we are leaving with a great experience. Service was great and personable. I'll drop pictures, but know the pictures don't carry the flavors of the entrees. My wife enjoyed her bourbon, mushroom & swiss burger. "Delicious!" Is not an expression my wife uses lightly, and that was her declaration of the seafood samples she snitched off the daughters plate! The pulled pork sandwich was awesome ! Thanks to everyone responsible for the eating experience! We'll be back!
