The new owner did a fantastic renovation. BUT SERIOUSLY, WITH A COVER CHARGE OF $30 for the same party that was $25 the week before??. Must we pay for the new construction in one evening? For our group we are sorry but we are done with that kind of abusive cover charge. At least there was no wait time at the bar where we bought no drinks cause people spent enough money for the cover charge.

Purgatory's website does not declare that a cover charge is required. They do not accept credit cards at entry; only can use credit cards at bar. Additionally, their on-site ATM runs out of money often. Very disappointing.

Staff were great and the events were fun! I had a blast dancing at the underwear party and experiencing the surprising drag queen appearance/show. Everyone seemed quite happy and it was infectious. I can only wish that the music was better, there is virtually no lyrics to sing with, and every song is EDM that feels bland and lacks character after a while. Maybe they rotate through DJs and genres but just check the nights you go. They did have covers when I went (July 1-4th).

Fun Bear Week parties here. Loved the flow between the indoor and outdoor spaces. My biggest gripe: not quite sure why is was so hot in the basement space—they need better AC. Was quite unpleasant.

Underwear party was really fun. The smell was pretty bad when you step in, unless you enjoy the high school locker room smell. The drink was watery, so Definitely pregame before you go. The staffs were all very welcoming and friendly.

It sounded fun, but unfortunately had strong smell of vomit everywhere. On top of that, it's an unfinished basement with exposed wiring in the ceiling so close you can touch. Maybe they are saving up all the $10 cover charges to pay for some simple remodeling one day but I would not suggest going before that.
