The Ice Palace

Where is AC air at least and fan at? Good and iconic venue but it’s just too hot inside and it’s the temperature. This is the place to dance to disco beats and couple newer pop songs with your friends. Atmospheric disco balls and the fog make it but the air is just not breathable.

For the popular parties, the venue is organized and the bartenders are remarkably patient. What I don’t like is the fact they keep the almost all sliding doors locked during occupancy. It made me think of a fire risk. Otherwise, lovely vibes in the morning, great cappuccino!

Attended the Motherdisco party, which was great, but the cocktails at the bar were quite poor.

Just got coffee (a cold brew) before the ferry. One star off because it was Manhattan level expensive.

The Cherry Grove Beach Hotel is a hotel. The Ice Palace is a bar/nightclub recently acquired (after decades of mismanagement) by Daniel Nardicio, a seasoned promoter and producer of the decades- long Underwear Party in the same location. He has refurbished the physical space, and brought in a lot of nationally recognized entertainment talent. I’ve been there at least once a day since it’s been open, if only for the coffee service, from the only espresso machine in town. It’s a fantastic space, and I’ve bought tickets to a number of events this season: the Hot Sardines, Joey Arias, Alaska, etc. the sound system and general look are much improved, and the talent is nationally recognized and top-notch. To repeat, the Ice Palace is the club, the Cherry Grove Beach Hotel is the hotel. The club is top notch, the hotel is still a work in progress, without a pool or pool deck at this time.
