I had an amazing time at La Cage, and a huge part of that was thanks to Simone! He had such a great vibe and made me feel so welcome. He introduced me to the specialty Halloween drink, which was fantastic. It was my first time here, and because of Simone's outstanding service, I will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Normally like this place. And crowded good music and dance area and friendly staff. But drove 2 hours to come here for Friday. Big mistake. More straight couples than gay people and 10% crowded $10 cover for no one to be inside. Great place but what we learned, we will never come here for a Friday night due to small crowd and more straight couples than gay clientele. We love straight allies and family but we wish the lgbtq outnumbered the hetero couples 75% more hetero than gays on Friday. Apparently this is a straight bar on Friday which is totally fine but honestly we didn’t have fun as we felt like we were minority on our own turf, who do you flirt with or take home if only girls are connected to their boyfriends!? Weird. Only will return on a Saturday in the future. Hoped to have fun and but met with not fun energy or crowds Only thing good was music and dance floor and staff. Other than that , would never come back on a slow Friday night here

I normally don't leave reviews but this is the 2nd time I've noticed this happen. When closing a tab, the bartenders automatically select the 30% tip and advance the payment screen. I'm sure this predatory method works a lot on the drunk clientele. But it is ultimately predatory. I'll never get a drink here again

I don't understand some of these reviews; this is my FAVORITE place to hang out! Friendly staff (who remember me), decent prices (I don't drink hard liquor), GREAT music, I love the shows, and I love the dancing. I've been to Fluid, Dix, and others, but LaCage has been my favorite place for the past couple of years! Security was strict during the covid lockdown but they're as relaxed as permissible by law and city ordinances. There are two wheelchair accessible entrances to the upper level and I think a lift to the lower level. You'll probably find me drinking a cider there ☺️

We were a group of four in an empty day. Asked for a song and bartender only choose to play it 7 minutes before closing, after 3 times asking flr it (if you're not going to play it, be honest about it, lying to costumers feel terrible). It was a night with only 7 people in. Terrible service.

Perhaps a great club. Never found out. Many doors, all numbered. To enter on a Saturday night you must choose door 9 3/4. We chose wrong, turned at the kitchen and wound up in the church basement, between the women's auxiliary and the AA meeting. Waited a bit for pastor Lars to serve us, but left after a bit because church basements are cool but also smell like church basements and regret. If we could go to the first floor, or second, maybe it would be different. Secret knock? Decoder ring? Perhaps unlock the public doors? What do I know, I don't run a straight-sometimes-gay bar in Milwaukee

I’ve had really good experiences here before; the cover is usually worth it. But this time the DJ SUCKED. Made us request songs online and there was a required $3 minimum tip for requesting a song. Meanwhile the music was Imagine Dragons. Wow. It’s gonna be hard to go back there now. Staff was friendly as always.
