This place is horrible. I have been going there for years and took international guests there, but the last time I went, one of the managers was drunk and a complete jerk to my guest and myself. We left the place with horrible experience. One manager said that we didn't have to pay cover because we purchased drinks and the other drunk guy said that we did, which was no problem, we would have gladly paid, but he started insulting my guests and our group and we decided to just leave the place and never return. I hope that no one else ever has to experience this, but to be sure, just don't go there and don't support these jerks.

Salsa Wednesday is really amazing. I happen to be here when San Francisco salsa festival is held. The performances are amazing. Especially the one from Amanda. I had great fun dancing salsa here. Bar tenders are very friendly and respectful. The dancers are from everywhere around the world that night. All the locals I met are supper friendly. It’s a great event.

You think you’ve seen salsa. Well my friend, I’m here to inform you that you have not. The teacher here from Wednesday night is an absolute maestro. I guarantee that it will be one of your best decisions in your life to visit or join a class.

Last Saturday my wife and I decided to spend a good night at El Valenciano. We arrived and sat at the bar, which actually didn't have many people, but it still took us approximately 7 minutes for a bartender to meet us. The bartender approached us and shook his head up. I. Trying to understand that gesture, I asked her for 2 drinks, a Cosmo and an Old Fashioned. The girl with a very bad attitude asked me: what? So, I repeated my order. So, she, without saying a word, turned around and left. Then my wife told me; How bad the attitude and service of this girl, we better go to another place. And we left.

Came here here with the guys a Friday's night and it was just so fun! Got to dance salsa, and merengue with señoritas on the other table, it is okay to ask ladies out to the dance floor here. Beers were good and cold! We had a blast!

First, nobody greeted us not at the entrance, not even the security guards. There is a fee of $15 to dance. The music was okay but then the DJ got stuck in playing Cumbias for a long time. The waittresses are attentive. The food is expensive and not good. I mean, not for the price. I noticed a lot of older people (45+) so, I'm not sure if that was my luck or it is a place for older people to hang out. In a nutshell it is not a good place to eat or go dancing if you under 50!

Food awful & drinks watered, even before Saturday night music started. Bartender took orders, but no pleasantries. I spoke in Spanish, but obviously am English speaking as well. After 2 vodka/cranberry drinks, not even a little buzz. Chicken was old & tasted awful. Guacamole & salsa Verde store bought. This used to be such a nice place to come with quality food and good drinks. Because of this experience, I couldn't wait for the music to start. Disappointing at the least! Chicken quesadilla & 2 drinks $38!

Good music and a worldly crowd. The place opened up to a dance floor and everyone started going for it. Mixed crowd from walk-ons to medium pros (maybe pros). Sound system isn't the best but is kept within tolerable limits to hold a decent conversation. Good spot for Zouk on the fly Thursday nights. Quality old wood flooring about 40'x40' and a disco ball! Great social dance spot that SF needs more of.
