Essence Med Spa

Taylor M is my go to massage therapist — he’s thorough, listens, and intuitive. I have been going to Essence for years now and have valued their cleanliness, professionalism, and service. I recommend them anytime I get the chance!

I was very excited to enjoy a 90 minute massage for my birthday. Unfortunately, not only was the massage low quality, she talked incessantly during my massage. She did not stop even when I tried to shut down conversation multiple times. She asked deeply personal questions and then offered unsolicited advice about my life and business. The massage was obviously not the relaxing experience I had hoped for. I immediately contacted the spa via email to let them know about my experience in hopes we could come up with fair solution given the fact that my massage was ruined due to the unprofessional behavior of one of their staff. They in turn offered that I could use the sauna before another massage I was expected to pay for. When I suggested that they either refund me for the massage or allow me to come in and get a massage with another technician they compared it to complaining about a meal after it has been consumed. This is an unfair comparison since you don't have to get up naked in the middle of a meal to contact the management. Both the service and their response was disappointing and I would not recommend Essence to anyone looking for a relaxing experience or management that is interested in maintaining the quality of the services provided.

I am grateful to share my 5 star experience coming to Essence. Very welcoming and friendly staff. I want to give a special shoutout to Gabrielle, she went above and beyond for my massage and I felt amazing afterwards. I highly recommend this med spa and am excited for my next visit I have in the near future.

This is my favorite spa in all of SB! Overall, Essence Med Spa offers a perfect blend of relaxation and beauty treatments. The staff here is highly skilled and attentive. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a top-quality spa experience.

I came in for my birthday and had a wonderful facial, massage and sauna session. I was given so much good advice on how to care for my skin. Thank you. My massage was wonderful and the sauna provided the detox and recovery I needed. Thank you so much for a wonderful birthday!

Had a wonderful experience at Essence Med Spa! I loved my massage, the therapist was excellent, and the staff in general was very friendly. Would highly recommend and will be going back as soon as I can!

Do not recommend! Receptionists were really unfriendly and awkward. The massage was okay, nothing special. My partner and I were really looking forward to it but unfortunately, this was really disappointing, a waste of our time and money. To the business: Focus on providing a great customer experience and training team members basic social skills. Arriving at an establishment and having socially awkward people working there, specially when this is such a people focused service, is not good.

it was an amazing experience! everyone took such good care of me and my massage was 10/10 booking my next appointment as soon as I am back in SB.
