Golden Massage

My matron of honor scheduled massages for my bridal party 3 weeks in advance for my Bachelorette party here and the front desk was very welcoming and said they had us on the calendar. Before heading their direction we called again to make sure they were staffed and ready for our arrival because there were 6 of us and we wanted to be sure it would work and they would be ready. Again they said they said we could come any time and before our appointment time which was 11am. When we arrived and met the front desk lady and she didn't speak English and said she was the only one there. We said we made an appointment and called ahead of time and she laughed and said no and sent us away. Very unorganized, untruthful and not reliable.I understand we had a large group but we checked and double checked!! Not impressed!

My husband and I were in town for a wedding and came across this place. We called and they got us in for an hour massage. The massage was wonderful and pressure was perfect. We are massage snobs but we both agreed this was the best massages we have ever had. We called after the wedding and booked another massage with them. Wish we lived closer.

I had a really nice session with Grace. She was attentive without being intrusive, checking in with pressure and comfort levels. There was good rhythm and symmetry to her treatment. The room was clean and tasteful; the music was pleasant. Her communication was good. The only downside to the experience was that Grace was the only attendant on duty, so she had to take a phone call and answer the door during our session. This certainly won't prevent me from visiting Golden Autumn again.

I had a massage with Grace on 1/5/23. The massage was very good, however it went bad when paying. She asked if I wanted to include tip. I replied $10.00 expecting to be billed 60.00 + 10.00 = $70.00. The receipt she handed me to sign was for $83.00. When I questioned, she pointed to a piece of paper taped to the wall and in pencil was scribbled 1 hr =$70, saying price went up.She tried to explain that when using a credit card it automately adds service charge of $3.00. I told her I was not happy about the surprise charges. I had seen April Lopez's review where staff replied to her concern about $3.00 charge saying "WE never charge a credit card fee." Untrue Grace didn't seem to hear or understand my compaint. Don't go for a massage at Golden Autumn unless you understand the pricing. I will not return. That's bit too much for a splurge.

The shop is very clean. I did not see VA license posted anywhere. Grace is very pleasant, polite and professional. However, a history was not asked and this was the most intense painful massage I have ever experienced. I asked for less intensity but was told “I have to get the knots out first”, I was tense and broke a sweat, not relaxed. Yes, the knots are mostly gone but the overall experience was not positive. There is a $3 charge to use a credit card.

I have had back issues for months. I had a "massage" last week that was more like torture and left me hurting worse than I was before. This was the complete opposite. She was very caring and checked in often to insure that I was comfortable. She found knots I wasn't even aware of and worked them out. Her facility is very clean and serene. I fully intend on returning often.

Today was my second visit for deep tissue massage. Grace is amazing!!! You ask for deep tissue and thats exactly what you get. Some other places that's not the case. You pay to get an oil rub.. Grace checked in with me frequently to see if I was ok with the amount of pressure and she makes you feel comfortable. The place is clean and relaxing. I've scheduled my 3rd appt. This is a new business and Grace is currently the only employee so she sometimes quietly answers a phone that you don't hear ring. So if you're calling, she may sound brief and distant...that's why. Any time she stops to greet a walk in or answer the phone is brief and she makes up every second by adding that to your time. I would strongly recommend checking this place out and support a hard working young lady and local business! This isn't a champagne and luxury spa type place but you get an amazing massage for the money.
