Eh, not my scene. I can normally still have a good time regardless of atmosphere but the people here were so obnoxious. The floors were filthy from everyone drunkenly spilling their drinks. Bathrooms...yikes. Only plus side is the bartenders are quick and attentive.

A cool atmosphere but like the bouncers are soo bad. My husband and I are 23 and married and they declined my literal real ID without even scanning it. Meanwhile there are a bunch of teenagers running around because apparently their IDs are “real” at no point as a 23 year old should I feel old, because if they are so strict on ID then nobody should be more than 2 yrs younger than me hahahaha.

Not a bar fan, but VIP section always made it more tolerable. Paid $350 for 15 wristbands and some lousy bottle service. Come to find out, they're handing wristbands out for free. When I mentioned this to one of the managers he came up with several different stories trying to explain himself. He originally told us it was just going to be us in the VIP area, and then told us he was handing the wristbands out to make it more fun for us. When I called him out about not asking us, he switched his story and said that other people who had paid for it didn't show up so they were handing out their wristbands. One way or the other, someone was getting screwed. Not to mention, they tried to cancel on us 1 hour before we were set to pick up our wristbands. I highly recommend not paying for the VIP section as you can just get the wristbands for free.

Promise of VIP service with lackluster execution. Consistent lack of effort and accountability from employees and managers. Atmosphere is good, yet lacks the proper service to make this bar a superior experience. VIP service is HORRIBLE. Employees run around like chickens with their heads cut off and managers look like butchers trying to catch them. No one knows what’s going on. Upon arrival, you are told, “VIP is closed, come back later”. You come back, this repeats. Finally, on your third time you may be lucky to get in. Then good luck finding your table. After 20 minutes, where once again no one knows what’s going on, you get a table. Then good luck getting the drinks and service you paid hundreds of dollars for. We waited an hour before getting our first bottle. No compensation or apology was offered for the lack of service on the behalf of AJs staff. In conclusion, don’t come here for VIP or great service. Come here if you want cheap drinks and a good time on the patio or dance floor. Horrible event execution by manager and other manager. Extremely immature to be yelling and fighting in front of customers and unprofessional not knowing how to do their job. Will not be returning and will be recommending the same to my friends. Heard the owner is a d*ck to their employees and watches them on camera… might be why they fail to function properly and run the business the way it should be. Your bar is 3 stars Ben(owner) and should be rated lower, stop worrying about money and treat your employees the way they should be.

If you want to get harassed by the employees this is the place to be. If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible establishment. Bouncers have no self awareness and get paid about 11/hr to argue with patrons. Have fun having your night ruined here. Employees suck, owner sucks.

Love the club vibe and this is the best you’ll get in ames haha. Gets pretty sticky towards the end of the night but it’s def a place to stop at during the night. I wouldn’t recommend buying vip because of the price but def worth if u can get a wristband from a buddy.

Great atmosphere! Untill.....Until...... we ran into a 19 year old... I'm 31 and she felt comfortable enough to tell us she was 19 and that this is the high school bar because they don't scan IDs
