Area 51

I’ve been attending Area 51 since the place opened…. Yes… I’m so old I actually fart dust! I have to give gratitude and credit to Alan and the (ever changing) staff for keeping it going and surviving for as long as it has. There’s not too many clubs in Utah that has held its own and kept its doors open for as long as they have. Though, I preferred the old Sanctuary and frequented it the most in my youth… it wouldn’t have ever been possible without Area 51. This place is a staple for great old school Goth/Industrial/EBM and more. Yes, it’s old and in need of some updates but that doesn’t take away from the nostalgia. I don’t frequent this place as much anymore… maybe 2-3 times a year. I’ve become a hermit and get easily annoyed with crowds now. However, when I do go I generally have a good time. So… if you’re feeling a little adventurous and want to visit a club a little different and outside your comfort zone. Take a chance…. Kill Your Clique… and go dance your ass off downstairs to some great tunes.

If youre 21, then sure this place can be kinda fun. It's certainly not the most clean or well up kept and some of the staff can be very standoffish, but there is a fair amount of things to do. My problem is that they advertise themselves as "the only 18+ club in Utah". All the 18 year olds have is a tiny dancefloor on the top floor. They still have to pay the same price, even during any event where all of the "activities" are locked in the 21+ area. We went to the Halloween bash this year, and all of the games, karaoke, haunted house, and any thing besides literally just dancing was restricted. It was almost $40 and the worst holiday event I've ever gone too. Goth prom was pretty much the same, to the extent that next year we're going to Provo of all places for their goth prom instead. I'm just so disappointed by the fact that you're not allowed to have fun at this "18+ club" unless you're actually 21+. I'd rather go to a Mormon stake dance than hang out on the 18+ dance floor, they'd probably play better music anyway.

This is a great place to hang out at and socialize! My good friend and I went here for the Christmas event, and it was a great night to meet old and new friends! The energy of the entire place was so much fun! All the staff were friendly and funny! And when I almost lost my glasses, the staff were quick to find them! I am very excited to frequent this establishment more and more, and see what other fun parties/events await everybody!

I come every weekend and it’s absolutely a blast!! Edd is always so nice and caring and is always my favorite part of the night. Great conversation and atmosphere :))

Great place to go dancing. If you get there early enough you might skip the cover fee. Excellent service a great place for groups and friends.

BEST CLUB IN UTAH FOR THE LAST 20+ YEARS! I'VE TRAVELED THE WORLD AND NO STATE OR COUNTRY HAS A FULL TIME GOTH CLUB! THIS IS MY HAVEN AND I'M GRATEFUL FOR IT EVERYDAY!

Very fun place to go! Goth night and 80's night are my favorites. The bar is well stocked and reasonably priced. Average weekend nights aren't too busy, but there are frequent events posted on Facebook that amass some wonderful crowds. If you enjoy watching goths dancing to Siouxsie, this is the place to be!

Had a blast!! It was a bday present from my wife and friends to take me to a dar for my first time and I had a wonderful time staff was amazing and so were the drinks they also accommodated me and my wife with our service dogs which at the end of the night we let the staff say hi and pet them which I think they were happy about to thank you so much !!!! I wish I got more pictures 110% will be coming back!!!
