Bellhop

Bellhop has some great tiki drinks, but as another reviewer noted, it’s not a traditional tiki vibe - I’d describe it as modern exotica. A younger crowd as well. We had great service and there’s some pyrotechnics with at least one drink

Didn't give the food rating because I didn't order there, but everything else here is amazing. Great bartenders. Amazing THC drinks. Good music. Worth every penny.

Bellhop has great tiki drinks, very good drinks- well presented and the folks making the drinks are awesome but it’s not a tiki bar. Ambiance is more of a cool beach vibe with club music. The crowd is hip and trendy. It’s a fun place to grab drinks with friends. Of the three places that brands itself as a tiki bar in Des Moines, Bellhop is the best overall.

If you are looking for a tiki bar with the kindest and skilled bartenders, a cheerful and happy ambience, oh and great drinks… look no further! Trey and Drew were wonderful and helped me choose a couple great cocktails to try. A great spot with plenty of seating and a great menu that will keep you coming back!

Tropical plants line the large windows. The bar stools are comfy. There are cozy tables for groups. The NA selection is amazing. The green drinks, THC infused will give you a mood boost without the alcohol.

I do like this place. The atmosphere is fantastic and includes tiki style drinks, a true rarity in the Midwest. The bartender that served us was fantastic and knew his stuff. The neon decor intermixed with some elements of tiki was a unique experience. However a couple things stuck out in mind that dropped it to 3 stars Issue 1: One member of the staff grabbed my glass of full water I was just served and scurried back to the bar. It's an honest mistake but I was trying to hydrate after a few drinks and by the time I had noticed, it was too late as the bar was reaching peak hours and we were ready to leave. It would be more appropriate to ask before taking the glass. Issue 2: Seating isn't the best. The majority of the seating is stools with a small table. Which is great for conversation but not for the back. There are benches lined up on some of the walls but several larger groups were already using them It is 100% worth visiting for the delicious refreshments.

Had a great experience here. Wasn't busy when we went. Bartender gave us great suggestions. Overall a great atmosphere. The unique drinks were delicious as well.

Walked in before close, at around 1:00 am. Door was unlocked and we came in and sat down. As I was scanning the menu, I was screamed at by the bartender. He said “GET THE HINT WERE DONE FOR THE NIGHT”. I have never been offended and disrespected like that in a public place. We did not say a word and walked out right away. The lack of respect for paying customers is unreal. As someone who has worked in customer service for over 5 years, that behavior is unacceptable.
