Omg Vanessa and Coco were amazing. I highly recommend. I don’t care if your straight, gay, trans or whatever you’ll have fun and be loved. Come and have the best night of bingo ever!

I went to Thursday night bingo the first time for my friend Jordan's Birthday. Had the best time! Can't wait to come again.

I went here for the first time last night and I had a great experience!! The bartenders were very friendly and there happened to be a drag show (I didn’t know this before I went), which was a very pleasant surprise! The show was wonderful and the atmosphere was amazing! Definitely going back!

Was super excited that Ames had finally gotten a bar that tailored itself to the LGBTQ community - was super excited. Have gone to this bar a few times now, and have to say that I’m less than impressed with its individuality, service and employees. First, the constant cover charges are ridiculous. Don’t go to this bar unless you’re comfortable with a cover charge for a show that never starts on time and provides terrible seating arrangements that favor those that get “reserved” seating or are friends of the performers/owners. Second, the quality of the over priced food is terrible with very limited options. There drinks are okay but the pours are less than average as far as one shot per drinks goes, sometimes it’s less, and bartenders are impatient and rude, even when you’re the only one up there ordering. Which leads me to my third - the employees treat you like garbage. The person at the front desk was so rude when we said we didn’t have cash the first time we went - scoffed at us and just silently pointed at an ATM across the way. The person walking around clearing tables stares you down until you finish a drink from a glass they want to take. Look, my opinion is just one of many out there. This bar has done a service to Ames and the performers are wonderful, I’m just sad that it tries so hard to be the Garden in Des Moines and the employees do no service to creating a very “at-home” environment. I left this bar feeling anxious and alienated. I still encourage everyone reading this to go and form your own opinion, maybe your experiences will be much better than mine.

Bigwigs is an absolute godsend to the queer community here in Ames. It’s definitely a the place to be and a safer space for the LGBTQ+ community. As a queer business myself, I fully support Big Wigs. Drinks are fabulous and Coco is my favorite bartender ever! The drag is fabulous! I don’t normally like bars, but big wigs staff is like family and the bar is like my home.

Bingo night is a great way to spend a Thursday evening. Coco is the only person I want to call out bingo numbers. Big A+!
