We decided to pre-game our ghost tour at the Black Penny since it's across from Louis Armstrong Park. It's kinda dimly lit with dark wood & brick inside - perfect for a hot New Orleans afternoon. It wasn't too busy and the bartender served us quickly and had time to chat a little bit. The cocktails were very good and decently priced. Would definitely drink here again.

My husband and I stopped here a few times on our vacation last week. Amazing selection, great vibe and awesome bartenders! All of the staff was super nice but definitely have to shout out Sean, we had some great conversation with him! Thanks for an awesome experience!

If you know me you know I love a good dive bar and one did not disappoint. You know you found one when the soap dispenser is a condiment dispenser. The service was great. The drinks were on point. The atmosphere was everything you want in a dive bar. It was great. I highly recommend it.

Quaint bar. Decent selection. Our bartender Matt was extremely welcoming. Ended up here two afternoons in a row. Matt makes a great Negroni.

Here for a pop-up Vietnamese Style Crawfish Event; we journeyed in to wait for the crawfish order to be ready. Basic bar, with seemingly familiar to the place 'bar flys' as I know this is a frequent stop during Mardi Gras Festivities. The crowd here on a Thursday night was plentiful, idk if that was because of the Crawfish or if this was the norm; either way, we blended in and enjoyed the night. Bartenders were friendly as were the patrons. Indoors there were 4-5 table & seating areas for you to cop-a-squat and be a lookie-lou or enjoy your company, whatever your pleasure. Lots of eclectic decor to feast your eyes on. Quite dimly lit, but it helps to set the mood though. Drink prices were fair & the drinks were tasty as well. I'm not a fan of game hunting and my hope is that the BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED RHINO HEAD on the wall near the restrooms was a fake.

So I’m not a fan of malort, but the pumpkin flavor they do for fall is pretty fantastic. Great locals bar with a good dive bar atmosphere and drinks.

Arrogant bartender will look you straight in the eye and then tell you "my eyes don't mean I'm ready for your order" instead of a simple "one second". Then he'll insist to next woman asking for a drink she hand over her beads "so you don't get mugged", then throw them in the trash... even when you protest. He'll just give you a smug look and refuse, even after the suggestion of bagging them and not wearing them. Colossal level of douchbagery.
