Black River Tavern

Great place to watch a game or people watch. Great food. Indoor and outdoor seating. I had a burger on toasted sour dough that was out of this world. Pretzel sticks were on point. Super cute atmosphere

Nice downtown Tavern has a little bit of an Irish feel My Ruben was subpar, kind of bland deli meat style I wouldn’t get it again. In the past, I’ve had the Philly. It was good. I’ve also had the Italian beef, which is good. This time my girl had the Philly cheesesteak fries They were good little heavy on the extremely orange cheese for our liking, but they were good. We always enjoy our visit at the Black River Tavern. See you next time , the sidewalk patio is always a nice place to sit when the weather permits . Cheers.

The atmosphere was fantastic, cool, memorable on the walls, and good music. Service was top notch, owner is a sweet down to earth type of a woman. Unfortunately, the Parmesan Garlic wings and fries were not desirable. Wings were overcooked, and that takes some work to dry out dark meat chicken. There was no flavor to them at all, couldn't taste the garlic, and the cheese was gritty and mushy. I'd be willing to give this place another try because of the positives I mentioned above.

Atmosphere out the door. You can see the South Haven lighthouse as you walk in the door. Excellent food choices. C the menu in pictures. I got the perch wrap with veggies. Nice little afterburn with spices. You could actually taste the perch. It came with house chips. My wife got the fried chicken salad and she said it was very tasty. Staff friendly and attentive. Worth every penny.

Terrible food. We spent Waayyy too much money on this place. Eating out on our trail rides is a special treat for us, so when the food is bad it is quite dramatic. The BBQ pork was absolutely terrible!!! … probably should have sent it back and the fish was tasteless. Our waitress was quick to take our order but then NEVER came back… well, until payment was due! We felt quite abandoned and overlooked. We saw another waitress servicing other tables that was so on top of it.. and so wanted to be switched to her area!! I ran out of water which should have been such an easy fix!! Okay, here is my effort to focus on the positive… finding one… finding something… anything… ahhhh…. okay, positive… the beer and mixed drinks were good! I would say this establishment should just be drinks and bar food. We went to an awesome bar in another state that JUST served drinks, then allowed patrons to have food delivered by uber from other establishments. It was awesome. This place should do that. Food..yuck… drinks… good. They appear to be successful due to their location… NOT their good food. ‍♀️

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but this was a notable experience - buyers beware. Our food came 45 minutes after ordering it. When we asked for our food to-go, we were not given any forks or napkins - including for an item that was a salad. And upon opening said salad, there was a hair in it (photo is the image with the hair). I leave this review partly for management to know, but also for those looking for a quick and consistent place to eat. I’d recommend trying elsewhere.

A friend recommended BRT and we were happy she did! Great service, wonderful food. The perch was so nice 🙂

A fun place at a great location. The service was excellent. Our meals were delicious. Eat outside if you can. Try the Reuben!
