i’ve had a lot of really good times at this bar but had to stop going because it started to feel less and less safe there. the last 3 or 4 times we went there we were harassed by other patrons inside and people outside while we were smoking. it really sucks because i loved coming here so much but i don’t want to risk my own or my friends personal safety. last time we were there one of the other patrons SA’d my friend and we had to get the heck out of there. again really loved this place, i’ve never had a negative experience with any of the bartenders and i’m so sorry to see that other people have. one of the karaoke DJs, a blonde woman, was not very kind and would only play your song if you tipped her extra. otherwise you’d get skipped. that was around the time i stopped coming to karaoke nights and from there was popping in randomly, until the ^ instances above with patrons being unsafe started occurring. if you decide to go make sure you stay vigilant.

It was late and a lot of places were closed, and we wanted food that wasn't drive-through. I reluctantly agreed to go to boombox bar, having low expectations for sure. When we were arrived we found a medium size group participating and and enjoying karaoke. OK, that was fun and good for people watching! But I wanted something to eat. We each ordered a burger and shared a basket of Gorgonzola fries. Much to my surprise the burger was really tasty and cooked well. Maybe could've used a better bun. Just saying, not really complaining. The basket of fries was generous and crispy and loaded with Gorgonzola sauce and cheese. We ate every last bite. My friend had some kind of mule cocktail and enjoyed it as well The service was counter-casual, but the staff was friendly and the food came pretty fast. At the end of it all I had to apologize to my friend for making a fuss and not wanting to go to this place. We will def go back!

We have had a lot of great nights at boom box bar. It’s usually nights where we’re having a great time in White Center and wind up doing karaoke here before the night gets over. We also came here for one of the Tuesday night trivia nights and it was a lot of fun. The crowd is laid-back and not too uptight. A big surprise was how delicious the cafeteria style crinkle cut fries were. Didn’t see that coming, YUM!! There were also really nice cocktails as well.

I haven't had the food there yet but the drinks are yummy, and the karaoke is great! The host is talented and enthusiastic so really keeps up the vibe, the crowd was supportive of each other and just overall a really fun time!

Cool little place, was absolutely packed when we went. My only issue was the volume of the music. We couldn't hear each other from 1 foot away. Ironically there wasn't enough volume directed at the stage when singing. I had to sing louder and wound up off key in order to hear myself on the speakers and confirm my mic was on.

**from what I have read on other low star reviews, there seems to be a repeating pattern of racism from at least one of the bartenders, most likely the one that my husband & I interacted with. My husband is Ethiopian so from what I can discern that had to play a role in the way we were treated. Extremely distasteful. The bartender that was working 6/29/24 & 7/6/24 was super rude for no reason. It was my first time coming to Boombox & I love the atmosphere. Super cute, pretty decent food but the service sucked. Regardless of your perception of someone, as a business it’s your job to make the customer feel welcome, safe, & valued. That was not the vibe my husband & I received from the bartender.

Ordered from uber eats. Surprisingly everything was good, fresh, and hot. The only thing was the food was so hot that it melted the condiments packs, but I'll take that. First time try for me and I'll eat there again.
