We just dropped in for a cocktail and will definitely be back to try menu items. Very chill atmosphere and watched the game. Great place to hang out.

Awesome Sam was our waitress. She was so efficient and personable! The food was excellent and cooked exactly as requested.

This review is long over due - my sister was married the end of September and I was the lead in securing the rehearsal dinner venue and details. I worked with Heather over the phone and email exchanges to iron out all details. I booked the upstairs and had City Tavern cater with their food. I live in Atlanta so this entire booking was made site unseen, food not tasted and no in person meeting. I can not express enough how incredibly pleased and happy we were over everything. The upstairs was an amazing space for the rehearsal dinner. The food was fantastic! Guests raved over the beef tenderloin!! The General Manager, Drew, was on hand the night of the event and he was extremely helpful, accommodating and supportive. My husband is a restaurant consultant and I have worked in the hospitality industry for years so you can be assured this review is not only accurate but extremely honest. Thank you to Heather, Drew and City Tavern for a memorable night and event!

My family and I stopped in for lunch yesterday. We were immediately greeted and promptly sat. We ordered a few apps and lunch. The food was really good, but the service was fantastic. Our server was friendly, efficient and witty! Couldn’t get better, right? Wrong - it DID get better. Our daughter walked out and forgot her wallet that she’d hung on the back of the chair. We didn’t realize it and strolled with our full bellies out to the car and started our journey home. The next thing we know, we’re a couple of BLOCKS away and our server comes sprinting down the road with my daughter’s wallet!!! We’re still talking about how impressive that was..and obviously how grateful we were to get the wallet back! Anytime we’re passing through Salisbury again, we’ll be stopping in! You’ve got a fantastic employee in this young lady and we hope she knows how much we appreciate her!

Our family is not from Salisbury so we randomly chose City Tavern for a place to have done lunch together after a funeral at the National Cemetery. We were a group of mostly seniors and the high tops weren’t the best for some of us but the staff tried to work out a suitable arrangement where most of us could be comfortable. The food was very good even though the green beans and mashed potatoes were unavailable for those wanting them for a vegetable plate. I got the ribeye sandwich and it was tender and flavorful. The iced tea was good and I’m picky about tea. Our waitress was able to handle our large group well.

In Salisbury on Saturday for a girls day. While walking around town a local man recommended this place. So glad we took his recommendation. Lunch was great. We split 2 appetizers, the fried pickle spears with dip and the spinach and artichoke dip with chips. And our meals were delicious. We each got a small salad as our sides. We had the chicken quesadilla, the sloppy Joe grilled cheese and the ultimate grilled cheese. Our server did a great job with explaining items and talking about favorites and popular items. She was very helpful and friendly. Definitely a place I would come back to again!

Food was okay but it's the best thing I had downtown. If I had to eat downtown I'd probably go back.

Decided to have my birthday lunch with best friend in Salisbury. We decided on City Tavern and are glad we did. I had their Club Sandwich with a side salad. The sandwich ty so large I only ate half. Tasted great. Was on toasted sourdough bread. My friend had the grilled cheese and he said it was excellent as well. The sweet ice tea was a bit too sweet for me and our waitress was kind enough to make me a half & half, which was excellent. Wish I had taken a picture of our sandwiches. The interior was great and seating comfortable. I'd recommend.
