Owner and bartenders overcharged us then created so much drama to distract everyone from what was really happening, which was being overcharged. Can of soda=$5 and cocktail $10. I don't yet know her name but wanted all y'all to be aware of her and her daughter and the bartender's shenanigans. The male bartender did try to make it right for me. The owner just wanted me gone because I asked questions and her answers didn't add up. They also took my friend to a back room when she questioned their prices. Apparently the male bartender wanted to make it right , going for his pocket to five out friend money but the owner said no, that my friend could have find something for a 60th anniversary gift

Bad atmosphere. Owner unprofessional. Doesn't deserve any stars. Kind of a dump. Worst place in town. Serves cheap food from grocery store heated in a microwave. Nasty. There's good bars to visit. Don't waste time or money in this dump. The Proletariat is a way better bar. Tin Pig just opened. They are opening a brewery. The Hotel Pattee has a nice bar. Lots of nice, safe, friendly places that serve real food.

In the 1950's this place used to be called Stub's place...named after Stub Smithson...one of the many Smithson's of Perry. His brother 'Mutt' ran the local grocery store located out the front window at the corner of Railroad and Otley. Mutt used to have a pair of binocular that he'd 'watch' his brother's coming and goings. Mutt's wife MARY was the Post Master of Perry! Walter Smithson ran "Walt's Sporting Goods"...my uncle. Very nice man. The Smithson family lived at 1318 Otley (now torn down). My mother Velma E. Ward (Smithson) lived at this address on Otley. Many fond memories. Do anybody remember the POPCORN cart that sold delicious bags of fresh popcorn at the corner of 2nd Street & where the Pattee Hotel crosses? BTW...noticed your Miller Lite banner on your website. SMALL WORLD...Velma's son (Robert Ward, me) ended up being the Director of Advertising for Miller Brewing Company in Milwaukee from 1985-1994. Tastes Great...Less Filling The Crooked Rail has got to be great. Stub 'kinda ran it's predecessor.

One of the cleanest small town bars I've seen. Prompt service and assorted games. Exactly what you would imagine a small town bar to be.
