Dirty Franks

Super cool dive bar that felt very local but also a welcoming feel. There was a decent beer selection and there's no way to miss that this is a cash only bar. Service was good and music selection was great. Really enjoyed the vibe here and wouldn't mind going back. I read that it gets busy at night so we went some time after lunch and it wasn't busy at all.

dirty franks is a fantastic lil bar! it is almost ALWAYS crowded so you have to get there early! the service is always quick, no matter how busy it is. there's a touch tunes machine and an atm inside. there are tables but they will fill up quickly, and there's not much standing room when it's busy! they also have outdoor seating available. they don't serve food, but i did see they have some snacks behind the bar. specifically combos and some nut mix. CASH ONLY!

The atmosphere was good but the bartender was not very pleasant. She told me that it was a cash only place and then broke my 100 into huge bills so I tipped her the smaller bills since we were planning on getting more drinks. She then proceeded to berate my friends saying she was not going to serve them because she works off tips. We had the cash set aside at the end since we knew we were going to buy more drinks. I tried to explain that to her but she walked away and proceeded to not serve us anymore. I sat there looking at her waiting for another beer as she gave me dirty looks and ate her sandwich and served everyone else around me. Just be warned this place is a predatory tipping establishment. Good service gets good tips. Cash only spot but she thinks she can treat people with disrespect. What if my friends were going to tip her. It’s a cash only place so they were buying their drinks from her. We aren’t from this area and were just stopping in. Never did we think we would get kicked out of place for not tipping because we wanted to make sure we tipped what the service was worth at the end. Just beware. She is an older lady who has tattoos all over her arms and dreadlocks. She wouldn’t tell me her name.

Dirty Frank's is a Philadelphia institution. Super cool bar with a local welcoming feel and Off The Wall Gallery make it a joy to visit. I always appreciate the comfortable atmosphere that Dirty Frank's has created. It's truly a gem in the City of Brotherly Love.

Dirty Franks - Well this place gets a wide variety of reviews. The woman who runs it is not friendly and the place is not real clean, but you can have fun there if you bring a good mood and good friends. It is a very wide clientele which is great. Shame the hostess cannot just be a little more welcoming. She is taking your money after all....

A straight ahead bar serving locales and tourist in a friendly atmosphere. Great service. Reasonably priced for a large city. CASH ONLY. Outdoor seating. A projection TV to catch a ball game. I would consider Dirty Franks a great neighborhood bar and not a dive bar.

Gets my vote for the best dive bar. No bs, heavy pours, and a great citywide.

Immaculate dive on a Saturday night. Clean, yet dingy in all the right ways. Good mix of both younger and older clientele. Cheap drinks. Recommended!
