Gertie's Whiskey Bar - Louisville

One the most fun experiences in Louisville! Great bourbon selection. The basement area with the limestone walls had excellent acoustics for a small jazz band. The staff will take very good care of you!

This review is long overdue, but If you're looking for a memorable night out in Louisville, you have to check out Gertie's Whiskey Bar! We went out for an adult night with my sister and two friends, and from the moment we walked in, we were completely taken by the incredible vibe upstairs. But the real magic lies in the 'secret' speakeasy downstairs, where we were treated to live jazz and an unforgettable bar scene. The manager was absolutely wonderful. I mentioned that my 16-year-old nephew, a huge jazz enthusiast, was visiting from out of town, and I was curious if there were any shows he could attend, even though the speakeasy is usually 21+. The manager went above and beyond, making special arrangements for us and reserving a cozy couch for our group. She even told us to text her when we arrived to ensure everything was ready for us! My nephew was absolutely thrilled. He got to chat with the band during intermission, and I could see him light up as he talked with them about all things jazz—terms I didn’t even understand! It was such a meaningful experience for him, and we all felt like VIPs thanks to the thoughtful staff and the talented musicians who made it all so special. Big shout-out to the incredible band and the fantastic Gertie's team for giving us a night to remember. Gertie’s was an amazing birthday experience. The ambiance was exactly what it needed to be. The drinks were crafted greatly, and the bartenders were the best. This was one of the best bars I’ve ever been to, would come back.

We had a company gathering downstairs. Great atmosphere and great drinks. I never tried the appetizers, but others enjoyed them.

Did not get to see the speakeasy but the above-ground portion is just as captivating and inviting. Bartenders were very nice and warm, and the cocktails were genuinely delicious!

One of my favorite cocktail bars in the area. Drinks are made very well, lots of different options. Very nice courtyard/sitting area outside. Highly recommended

Awesome atmosphere and very friendly service. Nice eclectic drinks in both levels. Awesome old fashioned and thanks for having proper ice! Look forward to coming back soon.
