Love this club. The main floor is big and gets packed after 11pm. Love the downstairs, it’s dark with lasers and different music. This place is so big I didn’t notice it had an outside. One of my favorite all time clubs.

Here is what you need to know: - they will charge you $25 for cover, but give you no stamp ,no re-entry. I mean, the decorations are cool and all, but you can get them pretty easily on Amazon it’s not that impressive at the end of the day. Great eye for the vibe tho, kudos to that guy, who did that. If they would have let my partner and I step out for a cigarette and come back that would have made it much nicer, but the service we received made it pretty clear that this is a more of a soulless cash grab than a traditional gay bar. 1/10

I was at Highland Nightclub on 9/1/24. I went to the bottom floor bar to the left of the building from the ally door, the bartender was a white male with neon green hair. I asked the bar tender if they had bottled water for two of my friends that were buzzed. I asked the cost and he said $5 per bottle, I went ahead and purchased them because my friends really needed water. I paid and placed the receipt book on the bar top, I did not tip the bartender because I only purchased water and it was already expensive just for the water. I placed a half full drink that my friend was drinking prior to the water bottle on the bar top and when I looked up at the bartender he through the drink at me. It splashed all over my clothes and arms. I had not said anything smart and the assault was completely unprovoked. My assumption is that he saw I did not leave a tip and then assaulted me. Highland Management you need to control your staff!!!! Mind you I’m an off duty law enforcement officer, so this could have been taken to a higher level. I spoke with two other employees who stated there was no manager available to speak with me due to them being busy closing… I frequent your establishment and would like to continue but if this is acceptable to you I definitely won’t be back!!!

Will never come here again on the 15th I went out with some of my friends to this club and then maybe 30 minutes after we arrived home I get a charge on my card for $207 at some sports bar called Chalmers that I have never been to. Be careful these bartenders will steal your card information and use it as they please. This sent my account into the negatives because I did not have that money. It’s extremely inappropriate extremely illegal and looks extremely bad on the business. I truly hope that the business Sees this review and looks at all of their bartenders because it’s not gonna be good for them once that bartender gets caught.

Terrible experience with the staff and their “Reserved” outdoor seating. Friends and I were sitting outside corner near the bar minding our business for over an hour before another clubber came to tell us that it’s “Reserved”. There are no signs, staff never said anything even after taking our empty cups. To make things worse, I have a physical disability. After telling the other clubber we have been here and have not been told to it’s “Reserved” they grabbed a staff member that ushered me to move. I was treated as if I’m the burden for having a Physical Disability sitting in the one area with open seats that hand NO SIGNS stating it’s “RESERVED”. Do better highland, communicate and block the space off if it’s truly “Reserved”. Kicking out a person with a disability is not the solution to lack of communication.

They close the basement on fridays with no warnings then still charge a $10 cover…. You’re stuck listening to a mid drag show on their blown out speakers. The drinks are ridiculously over priced and under poured. Their soda lines are dirty so all the mixed drinks taste rancid.

I've been in Austin for over 10 years. Highland is trash. The staff are all very aggressive and act like you are a burden. The drinks are overpriced and specifically during queer events they love to gouge at the door and at the bar. Come here if you want your phone stolen. In my entire time in Austin, this is the only place it's happened. This is not a safe space for the community. I've had friends rent out the top space and even during that time... security did nothing to help and bottles were stolen. Avoid this one at all cost. Or go and find out for yourself.

Hello! This is a very bad place. It charges an entrance fee of $15 per person and it weren’t have include a drink! There are also people inside, well above capacity, which is uncomfortable because it's very hot and the crowd has a smell of sweat. I advise those who are thinking of going, you are not to go!
