The bar decor is nice. The hotel history is interesting and it’s in a great location downtown. Service was not great. Late opening, not friendly, acted like it was an inconvenience to serve us. Drinks were horrible. The bartender didn’t seem to take pride in his drinks and seemed to not know appropriate ratios. My drink was so strong and my husbands was way too sweet. Not able to finish either one. Would not recommend.

We have had a wonderful experience staying at the Basin Hotel. Exceptional customer service so far! We were so excited to play some board games that were offered next door at Jack Rabbett’s Whiskey Bar and were quickly stopped by bartender, Chad Smithe who informed us no games were allowed and that my water bottle could not stay on the table where we were sitting. We understand if there are policies in place that we need to be informed of, but Chad’s tone and demeanor were very off-putting and unnecessarily rude. We will not be back to patronize this bar.

The place has good feng shui, but the windows were so dirty, as well as the light bulbs. Really, this is supposed to be a top notch place. Bartender was friendly, but top notch place, ah, no. Clean it up! You have so much going for this place!!

I went looking for a whiskey bar and ended up with this place which was one part local watering hole, one part hotel bar, and one part restaurant. Might be good if you're looking for a free pool table and a beer but otherwise I'd pass on this place.

Go for the games, drinks and a nice view. The wait staff forgot us for 10-15min. Only when I shifted my seat so I could be seen from the hall did they notice me. Oh and our waitress definitely looked RIPPED. Didn't even know the soup of the day, and when informed us still butchered the soups name. "Broccoli cheese and Tomato Basil" (Btw ...it was actually tomato Bisque, an entirely different soup altogether.) My side salad didn't taste like salad. Like I've been in the food industry 10+ years, how you make lettuce taste like that. Anyways if you're trying to eat, DON'T GO THERE.

Love the atmosphere of this place as well as the history. The bartender was so knowledgeable and a delight to talk with. Looking forward to coming back!

Got drinks here while waiting for a seat at the hotel’s Balcony restaurant. With COVID they were letting people purchase items then take them to an outdoor balcony area that overlooks downtown. The view was great and the drinks were good, but the prices seemed a little high, 21 dollars for a beer and a “Caught in a Pickle” martini. Mixed drinks at the main restaurant not even 4 feet away (owned and operated by the same hotel) were 3 to 5 dollars less.

My very first google review and this place deserves a 1 star. Drinks were horrible. We ate at the restaurant and spent $45 on 2 burgers that were cold and had absolutely no seasoning. You would think how popular this place is they would have better service. After expressing these concerns the waitress stated “since you ate a couple bites we unfortunately cannot take this off of your bill” seriously? Then proceeds to come back and say that she gave us half off and it was still $42 lol. I wouldn’t give these burgers to my own dog.
