Hip/Chill vibe at Jet Set Underground. It’s in the basement of 205 E, but has a sleek and modern feel. The bartenders were friendly. Several rooms with a large dance area. Bar area was cool, by the entrance. Several high top counters and a few places to sit.

I've consistently had great experiences here every time I've gone. It can get a little packed and crowded while also getting very hot and sweaty given it's nature in a decently small basement level, but it hasn't disappointed. Drinks will be around the same ballpark as other similar spots but the cover charge of $5 is vastly cheaper than anywhere else. Good for a younger adult audience too but not exclusive to such. All around queer bar with an often excellent music selection being played. Parking is difficult so I often rideshare here.

Fun place but the DJs they keep hiring ruin it. It sounds like they are just playing the same playlist everytime and doesn’t even seem like they are DJing. Theres little to no transitions between songs and the same songs are played everynight. Also the same songs they play arent even club music. No one wants to hear Party in the USA or Blank Space by Taylor Swift at the club (especially gay people). They also always play these songs in full but then skip bangers like rihanna 1/4th of the way through. Me and my friends usually end up leaving and going somewhere else. PLEASE play club music This place used to have amazing music but now its just popular white straight girl songs

So I don’t usually post about a place if the experience wasn’t great just to give the place the benefit of the doubt. Went there with friends, attempted to grab the first round of drinks with my friend (we both are of a different race and national origin and it’s obvious), we were overlooked but that’s normal because the bar is busy. Bar is not busy anymore, kept ignoring us for a good 5-8 minutes, and serving people who would come up instead who obviously do not look like us. Eventually we had to flag the bartender by waving like those car dealership blow ups, that still took them sometime to acknowledge. Finally, Bartender acknowledges one of us rudely, would cut off anyone ordering , again, rudely, to make the first drink then when a drink is ordered because we were cut off, top the micro aggression with a cherry, we get screamed at telling us there are others to serve (like yeah we know you’ve been serving everyone else but us). Responded by telling them they were skipping and refusing to provide service to us, they didn’t respond and passively aggressively smiled and not so nice returned my card and the machine to process the payment. 🙂 I understand if someone was having a hard stressful day, but apparently you get a pass from the aggression if you don’t look like us. I won’t blankly slap a label on this unfortunate interaction, but it is something to keep in mind if you go there as we were a witness to it happening to someone else who is of a different race by the same bartender within the same time frame of our interaction. Apart from that interaction the crowd is great and the music was amazing!

Cool music and vibe, but actually horrendous service. The bartender was incredibly rude and tried to say our very sick friend could not sleep in the lounge area when she was trying to recover. Actually appalled by the disrespect given to us.

Jetset is a gay bar/dance club in NE Minneapolis. The demographic is mixed men and women, mostly 20s and 30s, gay and straight. The vibe is both chill and upbeat with the bar essentially divided in half: one side with lounge seating for relaxing and chatting, and the other side with dancing, a live DJ and videos.

DJ who played on June 8/9: asked if he could play a song by a lesbian artist, he very rudely asked me “what do i mean” and i suggested an artist and he said laughed at me and said no? no suggestion of anyone else, just laughed at the thought of making the set cater to more than just white gay men.

They’ve done a nice job with the renovation! Feels like the “old” Jetset, but with an updated flair. Nice big bar and dance floor. Went on a Thursday night a day after opening, so it was still calm and chill. Hope it gains traction and becomes another awesome LGBTQ+ bar in the Twin Cities!
