Make sure to make a reservation or get on their wait list while enjoying other nearby diners/bars. The espresso martini had a flavorful frothy top. I was skeptical of their old fashioned given the blend of spirts, but it made me want another. Cute place with friendly service.

100% amazing service and drinks. My wife and I were immediately greeted and treated like royalty. This bar is the pinnacle of what it means to be in the service industry. Bartenders are extremely knowledgeable and are proud of what they do, and it shows. The drinks (all cocktails) are incredible. The atmosphere is authentic and immersive. John Brown's Underground is a must visit.

I love this place. Beer used to be my go to when wanting a drink, but John Brown’s Underground has converted me. The crew is extremely creative, friendly and serve up some amazing tasting cocktails. Always a good time with friends.

Amazing bar. Rotating menus that are always great. A must, if you're looking for new cocktails and a low key atmosphere. The staff is always amazing and will gladly explain tastes for drinks, if you need it. The menu has all allergens marked and there's also a selection of non alcoholic drinks as well.

Sure cool and hip hang in a pretty popular college town. Make reservations if you want to sit inside otherwise outside sipping is your jam. Crazy selection of spirit! Very unique mixed drinks. No food so line you stomach before you go! We loved it!

December 2022 update: This continues to be my FAVORITE spot in Lawrence!!! Excellent service, knowledgeable staff, and fantastic bartenders. They are like a second family to me and my friends. Indoor seating can be reserved in advance via their website, and I love how slick their new booking system is. It's worth driving from all over the Midwest to drink at this ICONIC cocktail bar!

Some of the best drinks and service in town. I was a patron of this bar for a year and never had a negative experience. The people are incredible and the cocktail program is one of the best I have ever seen. During nice weather the patio is beautiful, but if you want indoor seating, definitely make a reservation online. I can’t recommend this place enough!
