LaVida Massage

First time here. While the massage was alright, I told my problem area and Pam didn't touch it at all. Also, previous massages I've had, they had you flip onto your back. Was kind of disappointed. The facility was nice and relaxing. I'm sure I will come back one day and try another massage therapist.

Terrible experience on 10/14/24 and I was only there for 15 minutes. I left before even getting my massage. The lady who helped me book over the phone as well as the lady working the front desk when I came in for my apt were friendly, and helpful. My massage therapist, Pam, was not at all. She was so unprofessional and rude during the intake to the point that I felt uncomfortable even receiving a massage from this person, so I just left. As I was heading out to the front to tell the receptionist I was going to leave, Pam was standing up there complaining about me. Another factor to me leaving was how dingy and run down the massage room was. The floors looked like they had not been vacuumed in months, with duck tape holding the carpet down in certain spots. I am a massage therapist myself and would never speak to a client with the demeanor Pam spoke to me. She was cold and seemed like I was an inconvenience to her. I do not recommend this establishment. I have been waiting for a long time to write a review on this place. But I'm finally fed up. After them cancelling on us six times in a year, I have had enough. Two of those times being Valentine's Day and our Wedding anniversary. They apologize and say it's not their fault because a therapist doesn't show up. But a business has control of who they hire. Most of the time we don't find out that our massage is cancelled until we show up for our appointment. The first three times they would not offer any compensation. Finally they offered an upgrade for free essential oils. And then the next time they gave us a massage for free and now they are giving us a 30 minute upgrade for free, all of which I appreciate. But I just want a massage when it's planned and scheduled. I have a bulged disc in my back and massages help alleviate the pain. When we get the massages, they are actually rather good, that is why I am not giving less then 2 stars.

Could not rate high enough. Me and my husband came in for a couples massage and it was by far one of the best experiences I’ve had. I had Ali as my masseuse and my husband had Linda. We were both extremely happy with our trip here! My body hasn’t felt this good since I’ve been in my early teens. After having a baby especially, all of my pain areas were treated and we will most definitely be returning soon!!

This was my first time at LaVida, I have never had a better massage in my life. Ali was phenomenal and extremely professional. The front desk staff was also helpful and very kind. I will highly recommend Ali to my friends and family!

3 years has gone by since my original review and things have defiantly changed at this location. Changing my 5 star review to a 1 star. I have been a member at this location since 2011 and I'm not sure how much longer I will keep my membership. Last Friday 06/14/2024 I had a 2 hour massage booked with my favorite massage therapist. Huge surprise, when I was called back for my appointment... it was with a different therapist. I would never book anything more than a 60 minute massage with a therapist I do not know. Somehow my appointment was rebooked with a different therapist without my knowledge. That's like going to the hair salon to get your hair done by your favorite stylist and you show up to find out you are booked with someone else. This is not the only issue I have had here but the one that has impacted me the most.

I got my massage by Candice at the Livonia, MI location. I am feeling very unsatisfied with my massage. I feel like the massage was mostly just rubbing the oil into my skin, not massaging. The areas I told her I wanted worked on, were barely touched. I also am pretty positive she was using her cellphone multiple times during my massage. I noticed the hand movements change when I thought this and felt the phone by my feet and her tapping on it when she was rubbing my legs. I emailed the location last week about this experience and my dissatisfaction, to which I have heard nothing back. Such a waste of money, don’t even bother wasting your time and money at this location. They clearly do not care about their customer satisfaction.

I had a massage booked with Pam. She did a fantastic job and was a great masseuse, so I gave two stars, but I had scheduled a 90 minute session beginning at 1:30 and she was out of the room and done at 2:45. We did not start early either and it took her some time to come into the room to begin the massage. I was very disappointed since it felt like I did not get my money’s worth for the proper appointment length. I hope this is not the case every time at this location.
