Best place to have your birthday bash! No deposit, great price for a drinking wristband, plus they have the back area for you to decorate! Staff were SO kind and made it so special. Would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting a fun birthday night out ✨

Updating a couple years after my original review: best bar in Chicago, without a doubt. Great bar! They have darts and pool, which is free Tuesday-Thursday. The bartenders are a delight, they are very informed about the beers on tap and seemed genuinely happy to chat with me and my friends. It’s clear they love their neighborhood and customers and just want everyone to have a fun and safe time! Really good drink deals as well, especially the daily specials. I plan to book a party here at some point, they have great packages.

Great time. The bartender was a pro. The mood spanned a pub of yore with modern accoutrements. Will be returning!

A top-3 neighborhood bar in Chicago! Good prices, the bartenders are solid gold, and Creed is banned from the TouchTunes (if you go on off-peak hours, they’re usually playing great jazz). Tuesday nights everything is half off, which makes it pretty much unbeatable! I’ve never had anything but a good time here.

My recent experience at the Lincoln tap room was nothing short of appalling. As an Irish passport holder, I was denied service with no valid explanation given. I have used my passport card in Chicago for the past 3 months with no problems. The old, long, grey haired bartenders discriminatory behavior was not only unjust but left me feeling humiliated and unwelcome. Upon entering the establishment, I was excited to enjoy a night out with my girlfriend. However, my enthusiasm quickly turned to disbelief when the old bartender refused to serve me solely because of my nationality. This blatant act of discrimination is not only morally reprehensible but also illegal in many jurisdictions. I went back to my house to get other forms of Identification upon arriving back at the bar I was met by a very drunk man who claimed to work there and now said we were not allowed in. I went to this bar a few times before as we live around the corner and had no problems. It just seems to be that one old bartender with long grey hair that has the problem. To conclude I strongly urge anyone considering visiting Lincoln tap room to reconsider. Supporting businesses that engage in discrimination sends a dangerous message and perpetuates harmful stereotypes. There are plenty of other bars in Chicago that prioritize customer service and inclusivity over prejudice.

Walked in for a beer for a show at the Athenaeum. Had a great beer and would definitely go back if in the area.

Love this place. The bartenders are awesome. Great beer selection and prices are great. Union friendly. Pool table and darts. Scientology jokes. They don’t play Creed on the jukebox. I’m especially impressed with their investment in their bar celebrity.

Bartender is a piece of work. If your of any kind of Asian descent do NOT come here. Racism and violence work here. Edit: The response is very telling of the pleasantness of this place. A lot of assumptions and quick to anger. If nasty remarks are the quick response to anyone who didn’t have a good time or had a bad experience, that’s very sad. Nobody is allowed to have a bad time or witness things they don’t like here!!
