This was my first time ever going to a gay bar (I’m straight) We were celebrating my friends engaygment 😉 and we went to the Dueling Drag show. It was very funny and entertaining! My friends did karaoke after and the vibes were still equally fun! Drinks were good and the vibe felt very safe and chill!

Great views from the upper deck. We came for the Sunday tea dance, but there is no DJ and no dancing. There are also no straight people or bachelorette parties. Smallish crowd but respectable for the area. I can’t speak to others’ experience but the staff have been friendly, there wasn’t a bouncer at the door, and the vibe is low-key summertime. I’m glad we came.

It was my girlfriend and I’s first time in Ogunquit and we LOVED this bar! Staff were very friendly, drinks were reasonably priced and worth the money. We attended the drag show on Friday night and laughed the entire time! It was an amazing experience and we will definitely be back. They also have karaoke night, a pool table, and a big open dance floor with a DJ playing great music! 10/10 would recommend!

This was tonight: Male bartender served us as the bar was closing, knowing we had to vacate the bar right away. I bought 3 vodka sodas, one IPA, and one rosé, and they immediately asked us to leave the bar right away. I told them this is rather unethical, and they said they would only charge us for the drinks with no tip. Any bar in the industry would make an announcement about last call, not entrap us to pay for drinks and then expect us to binge drink what we just purchased. This is not only unethical but unhealthy. I asked for a refund, but they said that they couldn't and would just have zero for tip. I didn't sign my receipt, and my friends left the drinks because the the female security wanted is out of the bar because she wanted to go home, which she kept telling the crowd. I will be monitoring my credit card statement to make sure I was not inappropriately charged for this ethical practice. I do not think this type of business practice is legal. This is my second time at this bar as a tourist, and I feel that they take advantage of their patrons. It. Is. Unethical. What. They. Did. I want management to respond and refund me for the purchase that they charged when they lights went up. I will contest these charges with my credit card company.

Such a great time went with my fiancé this past Sunday for karaoke and the staff was great! Host/Dj of the karaoke was funny friendly and you could tell really enjoyed what they do! The bartenders also were very attentive and made drinks perfectly also they were very reasonably priced. Highly recommended green tea shots. Everyone that worked there was super nice and our bartender that night even recommended a great lunch spot for the following day as we were coming from out of town and needed some ideas. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for a great time and great service!

Went to go have a drink after a day at the beach and right as I walked up to the “security guard” he informs me that I am too intoxicated to enter. At this point I have not spoken a word and start to laugh it off, taking it as a joke, until I realize he is not joking. Judging someone’s level of intoxication by the way they walk up an incline to your restaurant is not an appropriate measure. Disrespectful and rude, would not even attempt to go again.

The previous version of this review did not fully explain how afraid I was during this event, so I’ve updated it a bit. The most bizarre thing happened to me here. I loved this place and made it a point to go there every visit to OGT. Sun night, I got kicked out because the manager claimed I was lying about something that happened six years ago. Six years ago: I went to Maine Street when I first got my dog. The first night my puppy was allowed on the deck for about an hour, then I was told dogs “weren’t really allowed”, it was a bit of a vaguely stated policy. The second night, I was asked to leave right away. No big deal. I wasn’t mad, they warned me the previous night. I didn’t believe my dog was entitled to be there, I was just hoping to get away with it. Back then, I was being a bit Karen-ish. (For anyone who has seen my service dog reviews… my current SD was a puppy then, not service trained yet, I was just starting to socialize him.) Tonight, a man brought his dog on deck and I was talking to him about how happy I was that dogs were welcome now. He said it depended on the night; if it was really busy, they didn’t like them to be there. I said that made sense and told him my experience six years ago. It was a bit of a confession…six years ago, I was in the wrong. You aren’t going to believe the next part. The manager was sitting at the bar and overheard the conversation and accused me of lying about what happened six years ago. He claimed they never asked me to leave and I was randomly lying. At this point, I was happy and having fun and I did not realize how venomous the guy was. So I turned to him to provide more details and emphasize it happened six years ago. He just kept talking over me, calling me a liar. He claimed he was there six years ago and the current dog on deck was evidence that I was lying about what happened in 2018. Why would I lie by telling a story that made me the bad guy? What? And he never accused the man with the dog of lying when he said it depended on the night. I was becoming afraid of this guy and how angry he was over such an inconsequential thing. So I said I would just pay my check and leave. As I was calculating tip (not the bartenders fault) another patron who I had been chatting with earlier asked me what happened. I started to tell him and the manager turned to me and yelled, “All right! I’ve had enough of this, you are a liar. You were vaping on deck.” He shouted for a security person to “get her out of here”. He was going to have me physically and forcefully ejected. I’m a 61 year old female. I don’t need to subdued and thrown out. I was paying my check and leaving voluntarily. I have a heart arrhythmia. The hatred pouring off this guy was terrifying and I could feel my heart start to race and skip beats. I walked out immediately before they could hurt me. (Being physically thrown out of a bar usually is not harmful, but when you are over 60 with a bad knee, early arthritis and a heart condition…) But my friend was still inside, so I left and stood on the sidewalk to text her. I leaned against a pole to catch my breath and let my breathing and heart rate slow. Some guy (different guy) came to the railing while I was on the sidewalk texting and shouted at me to “keep on walking”. I said I couldn’t just take off and leave my friend behind. They left me alone after that. But now I am afraid of Maine Street when I used to love going there. (A note about the “vaping”. I have a herbal allergy inhaler I got online. It is dr-approved, but not a prescription. If using that counts as vaping, then I was. But I was too afraid by then to argue.)
